UPDATE After renting a portable scooter from them last year with no issues and great battery life, we decided to rent one again for me and one for my husband, he previously had rented in the parks. We are at WDW right now, last night after only about 3 hours of use, the battery died on mine as soon as we got back from the Studios and my husband had to push it back to the room while I rode his. Today after about 3 hours of actual use ( we sat with them turned off for a good while), the thing almost died on me getting back from the lobby of Pop on to building 4 to our room. We called Buena Vista Scooters to report it and were told that the portable scooters only get about 4 hours and need to be charged! We had the charger with us and would have used it if needed, but how inconvenient is that? Between the two scooters, we paid them nearly $600 dollars! I guess I need to find an outlet where it isn't raining and keep stopping our touring to charge my scooter up every 4 hours! Fuming mad right now!

A Victory 10 goes all day long. It is a bit larger & not as portable as the small ones, but it has power that will get you through the day.

That doesn't sound right. It sounds like the batteries may be aging and not holding a full charge. I've always gotten 7-10 hours on a full charge. I'd ask them to switch the scooters out with ones with newer batteries. If they don't want to do that, have them come pick them up, there are plenty of other off-site scooter rental places in the Orlando area. I've had good luck with Walker Mobility.

What model did you rent?

Who did you speak to when you called - did you talk to an actual BV employee, or their answering service?

Have you charged the batter for the recommended 8 to 14 hours every night?

I found the owners manual for a "Portable Scooter" on their website. Starting on Page 22 is the info regarding battery charging. It does state that in order to get the maximum range from the scooter you must charge it fully before to using.

If I were in your shoes, I would call them, and tell them to either [A] bring out a scooter that will go all day at WDW, or to refund your money, so that you can call another vendor to bring an ECV out to you.

I've rented their portable model last year and this past March and had no problems going all day on it. Does your husband's work fine then - just yours? I'd definitely call them back. They told me it would go all day (considering my weight) - and they should swap it out or give you a different kind.

I'm sorry that happened to you. In case you find it useful, I'll let you know that we had a wonderful experience with CARE Medical when my mother needed an ECV for our January trip. Perfectly operating scooter, looked brand new, perfect service, and reasonable price.

I had the same experience! I rented with them a few years ago no issues. Then they delivered a 3 wheeler instead kf the 4 I paid for. I do not care for 3 wheelers I don't know about you guys but I find them unstable and I do not feel they handle curbs etc as well as 4 wheels. Anyway my wife phoned them and they were very rude. Well that is all we had.. But my wife explained we booked this months ago you knew our order so how can you run out? They said they would 'try' to deliver one the next day. In the meantime the thing had almost toppled over on a curb. Gave me a fright. Then the battery stopped working after 2 / 3 hours.

I agree with mamabunny. They should deliver scooters suitable for using in the parks. They refused to refund the money or replace the scooter. I was hotel room bound for 2 days. My wife then phoned apple and got one delivered. I would never use this company again.

Thanks everyone, after leaving a less than happy post on their FB page, got a call this morning, the brought me another and will refund yesterday's fee!
