I wrote an email to Disney about a turnstyle hurting me, and I was contacted within ten days. I talked to a very helpful CM on the phone about the situation. I told her it ruined my day, but it was nothing that would stop me from going back to Disney. Well, here's where we get to the disappointment part:

She said since I was already an annual passholder (weekday select only, with lots of blackout days), she couldn't send me tickets to refund my day that was ruined. However she did put three fastpass tickets in my name to get when I go next. WHAT? Three fastpass tickets (which you can get for free anyway) don't compare to sending me a park ticket. I have the number that she gave me for guest claims, can they do anything about it? I would much rather have a park ticket or a gift card worth a park ticket or something.

What can I do?

What happened with the turnstile, how did that ruin your day? Did you get pinched in it?

I guess I'm not understanding why your day was ruined.

I am really confused here.:confused3 If there was no actual damage to you then Disney owes you nothing and I think 3 fast passes are very generous. I went down hard at a pool entrance spot on a cruise ship a few months back. Bloodied my knee, ripped out my big toenail. (The surface was very slippery when wet and multiple people fell over the course of the week we were there.) I couldn't comfortably walk for a day or so because of the bruise on my knee (bending really hurt) and I couldn't wear closed shoes for over a week because of the toe damage. The hospitality guy on the ship apologized to me, but I got nothing for it, nor did I really expect anything. I am not sure why you think Disney owes you anything for an oopsie with a turnstile. :confused3

You want a park admission for being injured by a turnstile?

I was injured by a Metro turnstile. They didn't refund my trip. The station manager didn't even apologize.

I'm not sure what kind of injury a turnstile might cause that would "ruin your day." I got a big ugly bruise but I still went to work.

But she told the CM it ruined her whole day... :lmao:

At the risk of responding to a troll with nothing better to do, here goes.
How is Disney to blame for you hurting yourself? My family has been to Disney 4 times and have never had a problem with a turnstyle as I am sure neither have thousands of other people. Anyone can get hurt anywhere, Disney or not. Obviously, you expected a handout when you contacted Disney and they are under no obligation to give you anything. Can you imagine? How hurt where you that it "ruined" your whole day? Did you go to a doctor? Was management notified? I once caught my finger at my Disney resort room door. Why would Disney owe me anything for my carelessness?::confused3 Consider yourself lucky with the fastpasses and stop trying to make a mountain out of a molehill in order to benefit. :sad2:

I am very interested in how the injury occurred, and which turnstile is to blame. I want to know which evil turnstile to avoid on our next trip.

How badly were you hurt? I am not trying to be rude, but I slipped and fell at disney, and my jeans were ruined because the floor was saturated with bleach! (did I mention I was holding a sleeping 7 month old?) I had a big bruise on my butt, and disney offered to replace my jeans. I never followed up with it because they were old jeans. I never thought I deserved a free day at disney.

I would have been happy with fast passes I could use on anything, and not have to wait for!

It wasn't those bruises across your the front of your thighs when you pull your card out and the turnstile doesn't open and we run into them (always when there's a train pulling in and we are in a hurry to hopefully catch it)......Or how about when one side opens and the other sides doesn't and you whack one side of your hip? I spend many years on metro....so glad I retired 9 months ago! Oh the memories!!

This reminds me of the time I had to leave Disney because my vacation was over. That ruined my day, and Disney didnt give me any free tickets because of that...

There is no need for anyone to be rude. If you're not going to be helpful and answer my question, then there is no need to respond at all. I'm not being a troll. The turnstyle pinched me hard (it was an old-style one that was a bit in disrepair) and left a bruise on my thigh that hurt.

Don't be so quick to judge.

But did you write to them? And express your displeasure.

This should be fun...

Can I sit with you? I'll bring my own popcorn::

:lmao: Seriously!

You know, threads like this are usually started mid week when people are bored at work. I'm guessing they didn't have plans this weekend. :rolleyes1

How could a turnstile hurt you?

I think she wanted some cheerleaders to rally around and tell her how big bad Disney owes her something because she went through a turnstile sideways or however she got hurt. I still can't imagine how a turnstile could hurt you. Maybe if you are very Pooh sized and it is hard to get through then I could see how that might hurt you but ruin your day? Did you go to a doctor over your injury?

Can you imagine how many people try to get free stuff from Disney every day over crap that is their own fault?

You want a gift card for the amount of one day's ticket? So you think your butt bruise is worth $80? Is that the going rate for a turnstile injury?

Smile and say "Thank you". That is accepted practice when someone offers you a gift.

You stated it "ruined" your day-did you leave the park to seek medical attention or did you stay in the park?
