Just noticed times where changed on our British isles cruise. They were shorten. One was Liverpool I was hoping after our tour to walk and see the Beatles statue Looks like now as soon as we get back on the ship we’re leaving. Do they change the hrs back

You're on the 10 September cruise this year? 9.30am to 2.30pm in Liverpool. That's indeed short.

The closer you are to departure, the less likely they change it again. It can happen, but wouldn't count on it.

Its very likely its Liverpool port that changed the times. The Irish sea is tidal and I know it affects the port times in Dublin port. I checked the tide times, low tide is expected at 3.30pm on Sunday 10 September. The next high tide is not until 9.15pm. Liverpool port will have assigned a time for them to leave by according to the ship size and minimum depth of water needed to safely leave the port.

I wonder if it's due to tides? I thought Disney had an issue years ago with the Liverpool port where they had to leave at a certain time or be stuck there for hours.

Sorry your port times were shortened though. We're doing the Norway cruise in 2+weeks and had 2 ports changed a while ago, and have extra time at ports now (less sailing time required)

Just wondering what those that booked private tours are going to do. We have a tour book with DCL and get back right at 230

Depending on when they're scheduled to get back, they'll have to change them. That is one of the downsides to booking an outside tour, if anything changes with your port times, or you don't make port, then you've got to figure it out on your own and you'll be subject to whatever the tour company's policies are.

At least you're not missing a port. Just got off the 10-night France/Iceland/Norway and we completely missed a port. It's frustrating because our cruise already had way more sea days than I wanted in the first place.

Ditto on a 7 night southern European cruise a few weeks ago. It happens.

now I’m really confused. I wrote to DCL to ask about this and the reply I got this morning. The agent said she asked their partner who said that the times were not changed. Yet when we booked we were in Liverpool until 445 now it’s 230. It shows up on our itinerary as 230 also.

I guess we wait an see

That's very frustrating. What port got axed, and why?

I was originally thinking of booking this cruise, but it ended up not working out. Those Iceland ports are the highlight of a very expensive cruise...

Isafjordur got cancelled because their dock wasn't complete. Other (smaller) ships were able to tender. Bigger ships still can't get close enough. They've been dredging. I think if we were on the Magic it would have been a different story.

Ugh sorry to hear that. Isafjordur was the one port I was most interested in that itinerary, given its remoteness. I'd be real disappointed if I was on that cruise.

Isafjordur was cancelled last year on us for our August cruise and the reason they gave then was the dock wasn't ready.
And we were on the Magic so a smaller ship wouldn't help.
So we got 2 days in Reykjavik instead. But we were looking forward to Isafjordur also!!!
But at least we did get to see Iceland! (A country with NO McDonalds but does have KFC!!!!)

I don't think anyone was tendering last year. This year a lot of the smaller ships on other lines were tendering.

We did not get a second day in Reykjavik. I would have loved that!

An experienced tour company - and that is catering to cruise passengers - will be aware of ship schedules. And I mean they are more aware than people on the phone for DCL.

If you book with an independent vendor, make contact with them and be certain they are going to modify excursions if ship schedules change.

As to a shortened day, it is the unfortunate drawback of cruising.

In your situation, you have the predicament of deciding what activity most interests you.

As to seeing a statue, any chance your tour will travel by it? Maybe drop you off and let you get back on your own if there is extra time before boarding? (It looks like a 6 minute walk from statue to cruise port).
