Disappointed by 40% off

So, I booked one night at CBR (October 10) using the Race for the Taste group code. We are thinking about adding Friday as well if we decided to drive up that night. Then yesterday, I got a passholder 40% offer in the mail. I got excited because 40% off the usual CBR rate is less that the RFTT group rate and I thought I could save some money and apply it to a second night.

So, I called this morning and spoke to a wonderful CM. She did the math and with the 40% off, CBR would be $131. Well, I already paid $136, so the savings wouldn't be much. If I decide to book another night, I'll use the passholder rate, but I was really disappointed that the savings weren't more. I guess I had in my head that regular rates at CBR were in the $150 range so 40% would have been a big savings.

The $150 range is only during the value rate period, which does not include most of Oct. We generally pay over $200 a night for CSR. For what its worth, WDW website shows CSR standard view at $170/night during that time period, which would be $102 before taxes at the 40% discount.
