Disadvantage to CM signing you in

My nephew performed at Disneyland for many years but traveled with another show for several years. He just returned to Disney and offered to sign us in for 3 days when we go in February. Things are different at Disney since he last worked there- park reservations, genie+ etc. Do you know if you can buy genie + if a CM signs you in? I also qualify for DAS- can I get that if he signs us in? I asked him and he said, “Yeah- I’m pretty sure you can.” I asked him if he can find out for certain - I love him dearly and really appreciate him offering to sign us in but I’m afraid he will assume he knows the answer and not find out for sure.

Like your nephew--I'm pretty sure you can. LOL. My experience was pre-Covid, a friend signed us in and we received paper tickets that could be used just like any other ticket. And we were able to buy MaxPass. Good luck!

Tagging on, you can go to City Hall or CHamber of Commerce and get DAS added.

You can add DAS after you go in! He'll sign you in but you'll actually get a plastic card ticket each day to load into the app and then it's just like a normal ticket!! Also, yes you can add Genie+, right now us CM's get 20% off on that at Disneyland, not sure how long that lasts though! Have fun! He'll be saving you a ton of money!

The only thing I would worry about is if he is using his Main Entrance Pass, lots of weekend days are usually blocked. You might have to be flexible. If you aren't able to change dates or work around that at all, he can always use paper comp tickets for you!

I’ve been signed in by a friend’s daughter a recently as 2 weeks ago (and then again previously in April.) You can add Genie+ and go to City Hall for DAS. Once they go through the turnstile with you its as if you have a regular ticket. They do need to be with you when they sign you in, however.

I don’t know how it works on the CM side, but my friend’s daughter had to request the days in advance. So there may be some back-end stuff he would need to do.
