Disabling Call Waiting. A question.

I'm getting ready to start working from home. And I will be receiving phone calls so I need to have my call waiting turned off.

I know *70 will disable it on a per call basis. But once that particular call is over Call waiting automatically resumes.

I'm wondering if anyone knows how I can disable call waiting and have it remain off until I physically turn it back on?

Or, will I just have to call the phone company to have them permanently disable it? I don't use it anyway. In fact I hardly EVER use the land line but I will be starting too. I just need to be able to turn this call waiting off.

I guess you could have the phone company turn it off, but I'm not sure.

Personally, if I were working from home, I would want the call waiting so I didn't miss calls while I was on the phone.

Can't have the call waiting on while I'm working. It would interfere w/ the calls in queue(sp?). I'll be taking tech calls for my company so I'll log into their system and they will route the calls to my telephone. If I'm on a call but I have call waiting it will "Look" like I'm available to receive a call when really it's just my call waiting and the poor caller would just hear ringing and ringing.
