I thought I read somewhere that there is a special map that shows the different entrances or where we park a wheel chair, etc. Does anyone have a copy of these they can share, so I can study and get familiar with this??
Thanks so much!!

On the website there is a disability map dose not have where you can park your device

Maps.

There are accessibility maps that you can pick up along with the general park maps and times guides. These have info like companion restroom locations, and ASL interpreted show times. I believe they do show attractions like Spaceship Earth where wheelchairs enter at the exit, but they don’t have all of the information about rides that require a transfer. I don’t remember them showing ECV parking locations either. Those can be pretty flui at times. Though someone might correct me on that one.

For Spaceship Earth you wheel up to the door on the left side of building from entering the park. You press the Wheelchair button and within a couple minutes a CM will open the door and bring you and your party inside. Usually they'll have you wait 5-15 minutes (no FP needed for this method) and then seat you on the ride.

Many of the attractions allow the wheelchair/ECV on the ride line. Rides that need you to transfer into their seat have you wheel right up. Put your ECV in neutral and get on the ride. They'll push your wheels over to the end of the ride where it'll will be waiting for you :D

My memory says that it's on the right side of the building when entering the park. I could be wrong, but sure can't wrap my mind around it being on the other side no matter how hard I try to picture that.

I had a hard time trying to think that one out too and make sure I was describing it correctly. The door is on the side where Guest Relations and Test Track is.

You can just go in the one on the right and go over to the loading area for chairs. Door and ramp on the right are open no need to wait for someone to open door on left.

That's good to know that. One time they told us to go over to that door and we've been going that way ever since.

I've always used the door on the left, and the button I pressed caused the door to open automatically, so I think you can use that door with no wait.

You can enter Spaceship Earth building from either side. Just walk past the regular entrance and look the door on the side of the building. If the door is not open, you can just open it and go in.
A seating/parking area at ride exit will be ahead of you either to the right or left, depending on which door you come in. Check in with the CM there to go on the ride.
There is a mobility device parking area on one side and seating for waiting on the other.

A long time ago, Disney had a booklet that told how to enter different attractions/mobility entrances. At that point, many attractions were not accessible thru the regular entrance, so there were special instructions about which door to use, some where you entered thru the exit, etc.

A lot has changed since then. Most attractions have what are called Mainstream Lines, which means guests with disabilities enter in the same place and use the same lines with everyone else. As attractions were built, they were built with Mainstream Access and it was added during renovations as much as possible.
There are some attractions where guests with disabilities will use a different boarding area, but in most of those, you will still enter thru the regular entrance and wait in the same line as other guests. Closer to the boarding area, there will be a ‘pull off’ that leads to the accessible boarding area. Those are either well marked or a CM will be ready to direct you.

Animal Kingdom and Disney Hollywood Studio were built with Mainstream Lines. Epcot is Mainstream except for Spaceship Earth.
Because MK is older, there are still a few attractions that could not be changed to Mainstream. For those few, you will mostly be given a return time to come back if you do not have a Fastpass for the attraction. Off the top of my head, those are Big Thunder Mountain, Small World, Jungle Cruise and sometimes Space Mountain.

You can get a copy of the current WDW special disability maps on the Disney website at this link, about the middle of the page.

These maps are very similar to the ‘regular’ maps. All the maps and signs at each attraction use the same icon set.
- a wheelchair symbol means the attraction is both wheelchair and ECV accessible
- an ECV symbol with an arrow to a wheelchair usually means the attraction is wheelchair accessible, but not ECV accessible. It sometimes just means there is a wheelchair accessible ride car, which is not ECV accessible. Attraction wheelchairs are available at the attraction if it’s not ECV accessible. A CM can advise you.
- any icon set showing getting out of a wheelchair means guests must transfer to a ride vehicle.

You can get more info from the disABILITIES FAQs thread, near the top of this board or follow the link in my signature. The first post in that thread is an index to where things are.
It may look like the FAQs thread is old, but the date stamp is from when posts were initially added; it doesn’t time stamp changes.

Also Mad Tea Party - ask cast member at the entrance for instructions.
