Hi!

We are traveling in June to California, and are planning on spending one day at Universal Studios Hollywood (and 4 days in Disneyland). I have a pretty good idea how the DAS works for Disneyland having visited Disney World a number of times in the last few years, but does anyone know how it works for Universal Studios in Hollywood. I am traveling with an ASD child and an ADHD child. I was wondering if I need to buy the front of the line pass, or will the disability accommodation cover my children?

Thanks -- any info on how it works here would be greatly appreciated.

From looking at the website, it doesn't appear they provide special/alternate waiting areas. You would need to call for exact information.

USH has a system that is very similar to WDW, at least they did when we were there in 2015. Like WDW, you go to the attraction and get a return time and then you can enter through the Universal version of the FP line.

I'm sure you are aware, but DL handles the DAS a tiny bit differently to WDW in that you do not go to the attraction at DL in order to get the return time but instead go to kiosks. A minor change but one that you should know about. USH does not have kiosks and is more like WDW.

Oh, when I wrote to USH asking about this, I got this back:

Thank you for your interest in Universal Studios Hollywood. We offer a complimentary Guest Assistance Pass to guests with disabilities or limitations that may affect their visit to the park. Please be sure to stop by Guest Relations upon your arrival to request one of these passes.

Since the needs of our guests may differ, an associate will ask a few questions about what will be the most comfortable before providing complete information on how your pass will assist during the day. Please keep in mind that this pass is valid for the guest with the limitation and up to five (5) additional party members.

Please don't hesitate to reply with any questions. You can also speak with one of our representatives by calling 1-800-864-8377 option 3 between the hours of 9 am and 5 pm, seven days a week.
