It's my family's favorite quick sauce receipe. We love it b/c it's quick to make, but tastes almost like my all day sauce.

1 pound italian sausage (I use hot, but medium works well too. If using links, take the sausage out of its casing)
2 large cans crushed tomatoes
1 can tomato paste
1/2 medium onion, chopped
2-3 cloves of garlic, minced
1 teaspoon fresh basil
1 tsp of fresh oregano
*(could use dried too, but only use 1/2 tsp)
salt and pepper to taste.

In a deep frying pan (or sauce pan) cook up the italian sausage over medium high heat until cooked thru. Add the onions and garlic and continue to cook for another minute or two. Add both cans of tomatoes, basil, oregano, salt and pepper. When the sauce comes to just a boil, add the tomato paste and reduce heat. Add to cooked pasta of your choice.

These pics don't look as good as it tastes.

Sherry Wine Cake

1 pkg. Duncan Hines Yellow Cake Mix
1 pkg. Jell-O instant vanilla or french vanilla pudding
1/2 tsp grated nutmeg

Combine the above ingredients in a large bowl.

4 eggs
1/2 c. veg. oil
1 c. sherry wine

Combine the next three ingredients and the add them to the dry ingredients, and blend well by hand with a wire whisk. Beat quite well, but don't worry if it is a little lumpy. Grease a Bundt Pan with Crisco (not butter!) and bake for 45 - 50 at 350 degrees.
Unmold cake and sprinkle powdered sugar on top.

merrypoppins~ WOW! I cant imagine how long that dress took to sew! Just beautiful! :thumbsup2

ooohhhhh... Beautiful. I'm going to have to try the spaghetti sauce.

Good Heavens!

How are you going to compare a beautiful scrapbook layout - to a hand smocked dress to a delicious sounding shrimp recipe!!!

:thumbsup2 Tons of great work there guys nice job!!!

pixiedust: good luck to you all pixiedust:

Thanks for the compliments on my dress!

Glad I didn't have to decide. Lots of nice entries.

There are a lot of talented ladies here. Those entries were wonderful!!

Beautiful things ladies! :teeth: We have some real talent here! And some awfully cute kids! ::yes::

Patchchild - How long did it take you to do your Tree of Life LO? It's awesome! Did you have some sort of template? Or did you just do it by hand?

BTW - Am I the only one who can't see dizney-cruiser's entry?

Great entries, ladies! I've done sb mosaics, so I know a lot of time & effort went into that layout & the Hawaiian one, too. I don't sew, so I imagine the smocking took some time & effort, too.

Merry Poppins, that dress is gorgeous! I can't imagine how long that smocking must have taken!
Great entries everyone!
Lydia

Amazing entries! But I still can't imagine how you can possibly judge all those categories as one. :confused3

Just my opinion, but I think only a fellow scrapper could really evaluate the time, effort, orginality and creativity that goes into a scrapping entry. Just as I would never judge a recipe or a flower since I don't really know enough about cooking and gardening. I also think it would have been great to have this board judge the (anonymous) entries.

Anyway, I do think the contest was a great idea and the prizes were better than expected. Looking forward to the next contest!

Great work everyone! I don't know how they could compare all those categories together! The cross stitch, sewing projects are great and I know how long mosaics on scrapping take- and I have little patience for quilling! Those recipies sound great-I don't like to cook very much though. lol There are so many talented people on this site! ;)

Counterchange smocking isn't as time consuming as regular picture smocking. I had trouble choosing which dress to share, as I have both varieties. Wish I wasn't so far away from all of you, or I'd teach you a class. It's a fun hobby.

I really wanted to share my DD's Christening gown. It is shadow stitched, but since it's mostly white the pictures were all washed out. You couldn't appreciate the embroidery.

Great work everyone! I loved looking at all your handiwork. Thanks for sharing.
