So can you help out once more????

We are planning a pre-Christmas trip for 12/17-12/21 and cannot decide where to stay. We tried WL last year. Loved the resort but it was a little too far off the beaten path for us. Through trial and error, we've decided that we are Epcot or monorail resort people...

Cast of characters are me (working mom just happy to not be at work :earsgirl: ), grandma (my mom, fave travel buddy and fellow Disney fanatic :earsgirl: ), and DDs to be 6 and 3 princess: princess: (also Disney vets!) Our men folk just don't understand Disney. Hence, they are being left at home. ;)

The girls love the "train" a/k/a monorail. DD3 thinks CR is greatest place on Earth. I love the Poly. Period. I want to be tikiman!!! The GF garden view room we tried once had paper thin walls. very loud. Are all the rooms that badly built???

Loved the BWI (great rec, btw) but with kids??? Want to save BC for warmer trip - Georgia folks just don't swim in December. We save that for our northern neighbors on their trips to sunny FL and stare in disbelief at those swimming in 60 degree weather :)

Help me. Please. Do we stay CR, GF, Poly or BWI? Do we give GF another chance? We will probably do CL (except for GF where it may already be booked).

You've never let me down before...what are your thoughts?

Thanks!!!

I would say Polynesian, but then again that would be what I would say ANYTIME as we love it and to us there is no place that is more Disney ! :earsboy:

Me too!

And the rehab on the concierge building should be done so you'll get one of the new rooms.

The Poly is great because you can walk to the TTC to catch the direct Epcot monorail. And my 3 small children all love the Poly (of course they've never been anywhere else....). They really like the tiki torches and music at night and the castle all lit up---pure magic!

Poly!! This resort is great for families with children of all ages! It is very laid back. Ohana is the best! If you like the tropical setting... this is the one you want to be at!

You two are definitely adding fuel to my Poly fire!

I've been a little out of the loop on the boards and just read about the upgrades. I must admit, I'm definitely leaning towards the Poly!

We are going back spring break and definitely staying at the Poly then. Should I stay somewhere else in Dec.????

I'll say the Polynesian too! We were just there in concierge a couple of weeks ago and we LOVED it. :) I have a lot of pictures and my review in a thread I made. The link to the thread is below, near my countdown timer. There is also a thread for our stay at the Wilderness Lodge concierge, and the restaurants we dined at. :)

I would stay at the BWI. I really think that the decorations at the Epcot area resort are more breath taking than the ones at the monorail resorts, and you can walk to all of them. Plus, I think being able to check out the holiday festivities at MGM and Epcot, and then being able to walk back to the resort and not have to fight to get on a bus is a big plus.

Hi there. Our favorite two resorts are the Poly and the Beach Club. Since you want to save the BC for a warmer time, which I totally understand, I would vote for the Poly. It's a lovely resort. Nice, relaxed feel. Very very convenient. You've got the monorail, boat launch, and a short walk to the TTC and you're on your way to Epcot. We've never had a bad experience at the Poly. We stayed at the Grand and although I didn't notice thin walls, it just wasn't our cup of tea. The CR is in BAD NEED of repair and remodeling, which they are doing. Some say so is the Poly, which they are also doing, but in my opinion the Poly is still magical even with the outdated decor.

I agree with you about WL. We tried it and felt the same way. We too are monorail or Epcot resort people.

Have fun.
