One week from tonight I will be at a New Moon dinner party before we all trek out to the show. :cool1:

I need to have my Twilight bracelet ready. :goodvibes

Started reading New Moon again today. :goodvibes

It's a good thing it will be a busy week - I won't even notice the time fly by!

Holy Cow!

We stopped by Burger King last night and imagine my surprise when I tore into the bag and found a New Moon package!

It's a folder with cards in it. Like trading cards- 4x6 or so. with coupons/deals on the back and pics on the front! Holy Smokin!

If I had a scanner I'd post them.:sad2:

But I want the Team Edward water bottle listed on one of them...........

Looks like a trip to BK may be in store...

Who's going to a show at midnight tomorrow night?

(I'm going to a matinee at 1:00 on Friday.)

Sadly not me. DP won't indulge me. In a midnight showing or Friday, either.

I have an extra ticket for Friday at 1:00. You take the day off, drive down from Michigan, and I'd be GLAD to have you join us. :rotfl:

Me! :woohoo:

DH scared the living daylights out of me this morning, though. He came home from the bus stop, and commented about the "vampire and werewolf movie" that came out last night. WHAT?!?! He said they were talking about last night's 2 hour premier, and crowd reactions and reviews. WHAT?!?!

I pulled out my tickets, verified they were for tonight, and breathed a HUGE sigh of relief. Turns out, the radio station he was listening to had a private advance screening. Whew!

12:01 tonight!!! But of course going to wait in line for 3 hours beforehand my theater has 6 sold out shows at midnight!

update: LOVED IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Saw the movie last night!!! OME!!!!! Stop whatever you are doing and run to the theater to see it now!!!! It was soooooo good - funny, sad, scary, sexy. I can't wait to see it again!!!! :yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay:

Need more details, please!

Lots of shirtless Jacob. :thumbsup2 (Where were boys like him when I was in high school????) :rolleyes1

The acting was much better in this one - other than a few too many blinks and lip bites I actually liked Kristen Stewart this time. I think they stayed true to the book - a lot is condenced but still gets the point of the story through. Lots of funny lines by Charlie and the wolfpack.

I liked the Volturi - although I was a tiny bit disappointed in Jane - she was a little too American sounding for my taste and would have preferred a little bit more regal sounding voice since she is supposed to be older than how she looks. Not sure if I hadn't read the books if I would have totally understood the Volturi enough to appreciate them - but since we have all read the book it won't be a problem for us. ;)

The contacts and the hair is soooo much better than in Twilight. Although I still hated Jacob's wig - it looked like a wig. But Bella's wig looked good.

There wasn't enough of the Cullen family for me - I know they aren't in the book that much but I would have liked a few more glimpses of them at home - but that is just me.

There wasn't much fan girl screaming in the show I went to which pleased me to no end. :yay:

The last part of the movie is sooooo good!!! It makes you desperate for Eclipse to be in the theater tomorrow. :goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes

I pretty much agree with Tonya on everything.

Jacob looked like a little boy in his wig, but short hair and shirtless - um, wow, the cougar came out (there was even a cougar reference ;) )

Better acting, none of the blue lighting, although a few scenes I felt vertigo, which is very unusual for me.

I liked Jane, I thought Dakota Fanning did well.

The ending - holy crow, 203 days and counting :rotfl:

I just posted the following as my status on Facebook, after getting home from the movie...

Dodie is thankful for a better director, better special effects, better hair and make-up, a better screenplay (much closer to the book), and a bigger budget. New Moon is really, really good!

There were no screaming fangirls in my 1:00 matinee. The only time anyone made a peep was the first time Jacob removed his shirt after Bella wrecked the bike - and that was more like a heated gasp than a scream. ;)

I have NEVER been Team Jacob, but Taylor does such a good job with the character that you really do fall for him a little and feel sorry for him and his struggle.

The end is great. There was another gasp in the theater after the last line as well, probably especially from the folks who haven't read the books. Great cliff hanger!

I can't wait for Eclipse - with Jacob and Edward there throughout the entire movie!

Hope you all have enjoyed the movie.

I haven't read the books. Can I just watch the movies, or do I need to read the books?

I would suggest reading the books first and then see the movies. I think we all fell in love with the characters in the books and that is the reason why we love the movies. Whenever I watch the first movie, I always view it as a supplement for the books and don't think it really stands on its own. If I had seen the movie first I would have liked it but not loved it (and quite frankly, the first movie is only good, not great.)

Whenever people ask me about reading the books, I always suggest that they read the books in this order:

Twilight
Midnight Sun (a partial draft of this was posted on Stephenie Meyer's website and is Twilight from Edward's perspective - this is what made me love the series.)
Twilight - again
New Moon
Eclipse
Breaking Dawn

Once again, I agree with Tonya, with one minor change. New Moon was very difficult for me to get through, and, according to Stephenie Meyer, it is the same for most people. After you finish New Moon, go back and read it again. Maybe not until your finished reading the series, or immediately once you know how it ends, but it is much easier to handle the 2nd time around.

Of course, now that I've "met" the wolves, I can definitely see the appeal :rolleyes1

Lyn...what Tonya said. You of all people should read the books!;)

I was honestly disappointed with the first movie. I'm afraid if you start there, that may be where you stop.
