Dis special parties for Dec 2011

I have tried for two years to go to D23 Magic and Merriment. This year it did not get good reviews, so don't even know if I will try for 2011. so is the dis going to have a Christmas get together at WDW in 2011? I would love to go , just for the weekend to see all the lights and decorations.

Both Pete and John mentioned on another thread that there will be a DIS event every December. Details yet to be worked out so no specific dates set.

Oh no! We are thinking of October next year. However we are very sad to think of missing Christmas things at Disney... A Dis event would tip my choice to keep it in December.

A DIS event would be the only thing that would send me to Disney again in December. We were so disappointed in the decorations (or lack thereof) at the parks and at the deluxe resorts. It seems we pay more each year and get less for the money! We love Disney but they really need to go back and revisit the old days to remember what they did to make people --Disney people!! Our biggest disappointment came when we were trying to create a special moment for our son (age 6) We had a stocking sent from Disney Floral ---it was to arrive at our room the 2nd full day we were at Disney. We went back to our room at 5pm ---no stocking. I called Disney Floral ---it was delivered to the Wilderness Lodge ----Disney Floral call the Lodge while I was on hold ---their comment ---they just did not have the staff to deliver 'the package'!!! We were told that it would be delivered by 9pm!!! Left to go to the parks ---got back after 9pm ---no stocking!!!! We had to put our son in the bathtub direct from coming in the door so my husband could go down stairs and get the stocking and place it on the bed so when our son got done with his bath Santa's gift would be on the bed!! We did go down the next day and spoke to a manager --- I was good ---I just wanted to let them know what was going on with deliveries in the resort!! (This was not Christmas Eve ---we were at Disney in early December. We just wanted to do something cool for our son)
So ---long story but ---if The DIS has and Event --Count us IN

I know the Genius wanted to have some firmer information for us on PCC 2.0 but obviously that didn't happen. I'd give them some time to actually recover from the holidays before they start making firm plans.

We had so much fun last year at the Toy Story Mania party, I'd hate to miss something like that.

I'm with you guys. Renting points again this yr so I would love to have a general idea......so if I planned on being there say ...the first week of december....do you think I'd have a good chance of attending a dis event...lol.

I'm sure we all hate to bug you guys especially after all the planning with the podcast cruise, the holidays and the upcoming abd trips. But take it as flattery that a whole bunch of us are willing to plan our vacations just to hang with you guys!

Seriously though, have a great holiday podcast team and we'll all be "patiently"waiting for some dates to be announced!

I am waiting on Disney Event services to get back to me - as soon as we have a date set I will post it on the boards along with as many details as we have and how to sign-up for the event.

Trust me - I want to give everyone a date so that can make their plans now I just can't until Disney Event Services gets back to me.

Can't wait... this will be the first DIS event that I have a high likelihood of attending as we are already planning a trip for the first part of December

Have to make it to this event. It will be my first Dis event. Had plans for the family to go this past December, but work got in the way.

Can't wait. Thank goodness I have a trip to plan now!!! The world is back in balance.

I agree, seems that booking DVC gets harder in December each year. And I kind of like my DVC home resort. But I understand that no one planning an DIS event wants to give out tentative dates and deal with the all complaining when a tentative date changes.

Waiting on Disney folks can be a headache.

Hope we have a date soon. Have to rent something accessible [thinking apartment/villa this time] , and they go fast.
