As a lover of puddings, sweets and desserts - and I see from some of the trip reports a lot of you are too - I wondered if it would be possible to start a Dis Pudding Club.
I'm not 100% sure how the idea would work - and am open to suggestions - but my initial thoughts are this.
Each Saturday night those that want to join in will post details, including a picture if possible, of a dessert or sweet that they are either having or have had that night.
The dessert can either be home made, shop bought or out at a restaurant.
The more details you can provide the better so that anyone who likes the look of it can either go and buy one themselves or make it at home
Maybe each month we could all vote for those puddings featured and see what comes out on top.

So could this work? Are there enough people interested who would want to join in?

Sounds like fun Kenny. I personally won't be having many puddings as I'm on a diet, but we have a couple of birthdays coming up soon so there could be pics of birthday cakes and desserts that other people are enjoying if that's OK ?

I look forward to seeing everyone's photos :thumbsup2

sounds nice! I LOVE a good pudding! :goodvibes

I might be able to come up with a few low fat concoctions but only when the points allow it !! Will be interesting to see what people come up with though :thumbsup2

Totally nutty idea BUT should be great fun and I for one would join in as I love desserts!

Looking forward to hearing more:thumbsup2

Does it need to be resticted to a Saturday?
No not at all - that was just a suggestion to see if it would work. There's no reason why we shouldn't just chose a pudding that we have had in the week and go from there :goodvibes

Sounds great to me - hoping to have some chocolate orange brownies (WW of course!) up my sleeve next week! :goodvibes

Ooh our own UK Food Porn thread - the sweet edition :) Sounds good to me. I sometimes like dessert instead of my meal. I always find a way to justify it as a balanced meal

Good idea. Some of us don't like limitations. And it will keep the thread constant.

Well i'm going to try and bake a new cake this weekend so I'll post details on Sunday.

Like Mandy, I won't be indulging this side of Easter ;) but I am happy to contribute. I made a lovely waffle berry pudding on New Years Eve to take to my friends party. It went down an absolute storm and I've since made it at home a couple of time as it's so quick and easy and most of the ingredients are either in the cupboard or have a longer life in the fridge.

It's a twist on a traditional bread and butter pudding but the "bread" is Belgian waffles, the fruit is raspberrys and the custard part is made with sour cream to complement the raspberrys and white chocolate.
I did have a picture, but I deleted it :headache: no doubt I'll make it again soon so I will post a picture.

Here is the recipe (it is a pampered chef recipe).

Waffle Berry Pudding
--------------------

Ingredients:
2 packets (240 g each) waffles

150 g white chocolate

300 g raspberries (defrost if using frozen)

55 g caster sugar

1 tablespoon plain flour

500 ml soured cream or crème fraîche

3 eggs

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

1-2 tablespoons icing sugar

Vanilla ice cream, to serve (optional)

Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 200°C/fan 180°C/Gas 6. Cut waffles into 2.5-cm pieces; set aside. Coarsely chop white chocolate on Cutting Board. Place half of the waffle pieces into a Deep Dish Baker. Sprinkle with half of the chopped white chocolate and half of the raspberries; repeat layers.

2. Combine caster sugar and flour in Classic Batter Bowl; add soured cream, eggs and vanilla extract. Whisk until well blended. Spoon mixture evenly over top of raspberries.

4. Bake 30–35 minutes or until golden brown and set in centre. Remove from oven; cool 10 minutes. Sprinkle with sifted icing sugar. Serve with ice cream, if desired.

Yield: Serves 10

So how do people feel about starting a new thread every week with links to the previous weeks - or should we just keep the one thread going?
I thought that maybe we could start one each Friday/Saturday and keep it running for a week, which then gives anyone time to upload pics and info of any puddings they have over the weekend.

That would be fine with links in it. Unless you want to wait and see how much dessert the DISers eat on a weekly basis to see if it needs separate threads - although I have a feeling your instinct is correct and it may be better to do weekly ones. Now Hopefully the DIS Dieters Thread doesn't put pressure on us to move it ...
