Dis Mom's Club?

Only 90 days till we head home to the World. I'm starting to get rather excited and trying to plan and organize things. Perhaps you other moms might be able to give me some advice.

DS is currently 10 months old and will be 13 months old when we go. Right now he typically gets up about 7am. Rope drop is 9am. We are contemplating going to the MEMH, but wondered if having to maybe wake sleeping baby might mess with his rest. Should we stick to his normal schedule and just hit rope drop or try and do memh?

Also DS is currently wearing 18 month clothes. What size will he probably be fitting come October. At is 9 month check up he was 21 lbs 3oz. He's also very tall and 90% for height, only 70% for weight. I'm thinking he might still fit some of his 18 month clothes, but most likely be in size 24 months. And advice?

I am sure that my advice will not be popular with some mom's on here but...

We took our DS to WDW for his first birthday so I know what you are going through. Evan is a very early riser and has been since birth (don't know where he got that from because I am not) and has never been much of a napper (he took his last nap before he turned 3) but he is an early to bed kid. My daughter is the exact opposite of her brother.

We decided to go with the plans that we wanted to do and we made sure that we had the stroller with us so that he could sleep if he needed it. He slept easily in the stroller and we had a great trip.

So my advice would be to follow what you feel is best for you and your family.

I'd like to join in here.

My name is Heather and I'm a single mom by choice to Conner who is just shy of 4 months old. I live in Northern CA and just got tired of waiting to meet someone so I could have my baby and I couldn't be happier because he is the love of my life he makes me smile more everyday. I work full time but do 10 hour days so I get 3 day weekends with my boy every week which is nice.

Conner's unofficial first trip to DLR was last November when I was about 17 weeks pregnant. His official first trip to DLR will be in September when he and I go to see the Halloween time stuff. Then in January we are doing his first WDW trip and staying at Bay Lake Towers. And then next June we're taking my sister's to celebrate 12th grade graduation and 8th grade graduation and staying at VGC. I own DVC and I love it so far.

I agree with E3yore. We just bring a stroller and let the kids nap in there. We do try to go back for a rest time in the afternoon, if we do rope drop. Its really up to what works best for your family!

I agree, too. My oldest was 3 but gave up naps for the most part at 6 months, too nosey to sleep. My youngest was 14 1/2 months. We went back to the room some to nap but not everyday. She napped mostly in the stroller. Planning around her schedule would have been too hard. We live in central time so that would have been another factor. We did try to stick to meal times but they were not exact. Relax, it's a vacation. My girls are now 7 & 9 and they survive every 1 to 3 times per year still. Of course they now have a lot more attitude. :P

Just wanted to ask you moms if you are allowed to carry snacks into the parks now? This might save us a lot of money!

YES! You can bring almost anything into the parks with you except glass containers. There are some other rules, but I don't know them all.

Hi saysib! Like VirataMama4 said, yes you can take snacks and there are other rules about items not allowed in the parks.

Here's more from the WDW website's Theme Park FAQs: http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/faq/theme-parks/#subCategory9

"Are there any personal items I should not bring with me into the theme parks?

Items that you may not bring into the theme parks include but are not limited to:

Items with wheels, such as:
Wagons
Skateboards
Scooters
Inline skates
Shoes with built-in wheels
Strollers larger than 36" x 52" (92 x 132 cm)
Suitcases, coolers or backpacks with or without wheels larger than 24" (61 cm) long x 15" (38 cm) wide x 18" (46 cm) high. (Coolers required for medication may be stored in a locker or at Guest Relations.)
Any trailer-like object that is pushed or towed by an ECV wheelchair or stroller
Alcoholic beverages
Weapons of any kind
Folding chairs
Glass containers (excluding baby food jars and perfume bottles)
Pets (unless they are service animals)

In Disney's Animal Kingdom theme Park (for the safety of the wildlife), balloons, straws and drink lids are not permitted."

HTH! :)

Thank you, I knew there were a few other rules! LOL I must say it would be way easier for all my souvies if I was able to bring a trailer for my stroller! :rotfl:

Hey Moms!!

Here's an OT question for you. Does anyone have the Deluxe Babycakes Cupcake Maker?

I saw it today in BJs and it looks really cute. Have you ever tried it? Worth the $40? My oven is terrible so I've stopped baking cupcakes and I miss making them.

Mmmmmm, Cupcakes! I don't have the Deluxe Babycakes cupcake maker. But you WOULD have to mention cupcakes when I'm trying to cut back on sweets and lose weight!

I did it Princess Moms! I registered for the Princess Half Marathon! YIKES! I'm really going to run 13.1 miles. :scared1:

For years I have used just a lanyard to walk around the parks with....now Im considering a hip pack.....what do all of you use?
