Call me crazy (really, it's ok) but I thought that there was merchandise available that related to the Dis or disboards -- something along that line -- shirts and whatnot. Can anyone help me out here?

Yes, there is. I just bought a t-shirt & a pin for my upcomin trip. Go to the main page www.wdwinfo.com and look for where it says DIS store.
