I'm sad. I remember years ago, going to Coral Reef and ordering the Lobster. Every once in a while, I still get a craving for it! It was so goood!

I remember seeing it on the menu a couple of months ago when I made our ADR's and I was just looking over all the updated menus and noticed that it's gone. :badpc: :badpc: :badpc:

I was hoping for lobster when we ate there in February (it was our first time at the Coral Reef). Bummer. The food was good but I was a tiny bit disappointed.

I was hoping for this also when I ate there last September. IMO, Disney has many seafood-themed restaurants (Coral Reef, Flying Fish, Yacht Club galley, etc.) with a lack of seafood choices. Shrimp cocktail and salmon, wow, TGI Fridays has that!

When we were there in May, no lobster. The only place that had lobster that we went was Cap'n Jack's in DTD.

Oh, Teppanyaki had it as a side item, not included on the DDP.

We were at the Coral Reef in Nov of 2004 and they didn't even have lobster on the menu back then. I don't know if it has to do with prices...but I haven't seen it there in a while. Wish that they would bring it back. :confused3 They also used to have Dungeness (sp?) crab claws as an appetizer, and they got rid of those too. Bring back some real seafood!!!!

I think as long as the Dining Plan is offered, the 1TS restaurants will be offering more affordable fare, rather than extragant items like lobster and crab.

I had a lobster tail and steak last yr on the DP at Le Cellier..

Unfortunately I beleive Bicker is correct. Anyway I was alsways amazed at the lack of seafood anywhere in WDW. Lobster seems to be a hard item to find. It is taken on and of menus frequently.

If the DDP is the reason for this, I say it was a bad decision. Make it an addon, and charge extra but don't take it off the menu completely.

Fulton's has the Australian lobsters and Captain Jack's has lobster. We are eating at Fulton's on our next trip.

They have lobster at Bistro de Paris, Shula's, bluezoo, Narcoosee's (very expensive!), and Fulton's. :thumbsup2

Yup, there were a lot of more extravagant items on the 1TS restaurant menus last year that are no longer offered.

And for those on the Dining Plan, Bistro de Paris, Shula's, bluezoo and Fulton's don't honor the Dining Plan, while Narcoossee's is 2TS. (A pattern develops! :))

A too agree with Bicker. The menus no longer have some of the more expensive items even offered. We have used the DDP twice and enjoyed it a great deal. I like having things pre-paid and not thinking about cost. That said, I would be one that would rather have seen the more expensive and special items become a surcharge, than to have seen them all removed from the menus completely. I am sure others will disagree with my view, and that is probably why Disney made the decision it did.

As of December at least, you can't get the lobster at Le Cellier unless you pay to add it on at a cost. It is no longer offered for DDP guests for free. They might have taken it completely off the menu.

I agree with you. I don't like the fact that dining has gone downhill since the DDP has come about. They are reducing portions and taking more costly foods off the menu. I think it should stay on the menu but have a surcharge.

Keep in mind that there are a number of restaurants that still have more extravagant options. The number of signature restaurants is roughly equivalent to the extent of the demand for those options.

This is true. We may just have to use 2TS to experience those, and that is fine. The people at Disney are not idiots! It would be nice to use 1TS for those more extravagant options, but I understand why we can't! I do like the idea of adding on to your meal with a surcharge.

Are you serious? This is making the DDP less and less worth it. I mean, we do the DDP so that we can eat these great meals that would cost us TONS and we wouldn't get if we had to pay for them.

We were there in July of 2005 and I had the lobster... I too crave it sometimes. It was DELISH!

Agree 100%, fall-out from DP (along with indifferent service from waitstaff @ certain venues) is the removal of certain "high end" items from menus...assume, in response to those of DP irritated that they can't order everything on the menu. LeCellier, in particular, has removed several of their larger/pricer entrees/appetizers.

The DP is still a great deal cost-wise. Don't see how folks can legitimately complain that lobster isn't an offering for $40/pp/day when it usually runs close to $40 normally:confused3

One final comment, fresh lobster is wonderful but, if it's languished on a steam table or is not well prepared, I'd rather have a good hamburger.
IMO, price of a meal doesn't always = quality.

Yes CR no longer has lobster but they also switched from a 2TS restaurant to a 1TS
