DIS meet time

For all of you experienced cruisers, where and when is the best time to meet your fellow DIS friends? Thanks for your help!!

Our group met on Sunday at 3:00 in the Promanade Lounge. Here is a great tip: setup a Yahoo group account & have people join that group that are on your cruise. You can post questions, share photos, all sorts of things. Ours worked out really well.

Oh forgot to say why we met on Sunday. The first day is pretty hectic with getting on board, getting reservations, etc. so we figured Sunday would be easier for everyone.

We've done several Dis Meets over the course of our five courses. I think one of the best locations for a meet is the Promenade Lounge because it is large with lots of room, centrally located and easy to find, and has a bar if people want to grab a drink.

I think a great time for the meet is right after the lifeboat drill. This time-slot usually allows you a good 15-20 minutes for a quick meet. Although this may not seem like a lot of time, I've found that groups of Disers will drift up to the Sail Away Celebration as it approaches. People can mingle and interact with these smaller groups. The shorter period is also great because I think it's less intimidating for those who may be a bit more shy. Plus people don't feel obligated to hang around for an extended period of time if they don't want to.
