I am looking to do a DIS meet in the Birmingham/Pell City/Anniston area to help raise money for Give Kids The World. After working there this past some while we were camping at The Fort, I want wanted to help raise evermore money and what better way then doing a DIS meet. I am leaning to the Pell City area, just due to the closeness to my home and having help in the area. I am just checking to see who would be interested in attending the meet and who might have some suggestions. Let me know what you think and share some ideas.

You got my attention Richard, that's roughly 3 1/2 to 4 hours away, so definitely within reach.

October and November are full blown busy for me though with weddings and my Fort trip. If outside of that, then count me in.

I'm always in for doing things to help kids.

That's awesome to hear! I am looking into early next year to have time to line all things up and get it going, I will keep you posted!

I'll be waiting to hear. Hopefully there are others who can join in. Haven't gotten to meet anybody as of yet so that would be cool.

Count me in.

If we do this near Pell City, I would have to bring my popup and camp out over the weekend. Richard, I might need a recommendation from you (there must be nice places along Lake Logan Martin). We are the Camping Board and proud of it.

It would be something in the spring to look forward to.

We would be up for it! Count us in if the schedule works out!:cool1:

libba, please no drama this trip! If you bring your monster long trailer for the meet, keep it between the lines.

:lmao::cool1::rotfl2::rotfl::rolleyes1

Sorry everyone. On our big group live trip report from this past March, Libba and DH had, well, ... issues backing into their site. But it worked out in the end.

libba, I'll have a Chardonnay on ice for you when the time comes. ;)

God love ya Ed! We'll try to keep the drama to minimum. Camping this weekend at a COE park near Montgomery. We haven't camped this summer much due to DH's mom and her hubby buying a lake place at Lake Martin. Have missed the 'monster'!

Hey Ed, there is a great campground, Coosa Landing I think, not far from where I would like to do the meet. I think the spring time is the best. I am going to check with a few places for rent to host the meet. Once I have more details and ideas I will post them. I am getting good feed back on the Facebook DIS pages too!

Richard

We would be up for it depending our work schedule, I work offshore on a 28/14 schedule and my better have is a 1st grade teacher.

Once I get my plans laid out, I will work dates, we would love to have you guys!

I would definitely be interested in going to a dis meet. Hopefully work will cooperate and keep us posted on campgrounds.

libba - what COE campground near Montgomery? We go to Gunter Hill and really enjoy it. In fact, we'll be there over the Halloween weekend.:)

I'm sorry but that's a little too far with my busy schedule. If anyone plans anything like this farther South let me know. I'm in the Mobile area and camp a lot at Gulf State Park.

Flametamr,

I'd be up for a DIS Camping weekend at Gulf too.
