Hi everyone on this beautiful Monday morning :sunny:

I hope that you have all had a good week. After my disasterous week last week, I decided to weigh myself on Saturday before hubby's Fathers Day weekend treat. I had put on 2 lbs - but that was before taking DH to a 'eat-all-you-can' Chinese Buffet, and then yesterday we went to the racing with a fab picnic that included fresh cream cakes, large box of Roses and a big bag of Doritos (with a very hot salsa dip). So as you can gather I really can't get into the hang of this dieting again (I think I need to book another WDW holiday for motivation - LOL :rotfl: )

Anyway I hope you have all done well, and good luck for the coming week

A rather full and wobbly mandymouse :earsgirl:

Hi Mandy, isn't this weather glorious.:sunny:

Sounds like you had a fabulous weekend, well worth forgetting the dieting for!!!

I have not even bothered to get the scales out this weekend, it was DH's brothers wedding on Saturday. I was extremely good all last week and my wedding outfit fitted easily but the wedding breakfast was so delicious and the fact that we were served enormous portions together with me consuming copious amounts of champagne means that I expect I have put on at least 2 stone!!!

Never mind, back to the healthy-eating again in a run-up to our holiday! When I have remembered how to do it, I will post a photo of my DD's as bridesmaids (just in case anyone is interested).

That really sounds like self-destruct mandy :rotfl: .
The AYCE chinese sounded good.
I've stuck at 13st. 10lbs. despite all the salads and fruit all week.It cant have been the rubarb crumble we had in the middle of the week :teeth:
I even turned down a fresh cream chocolate eclair that one of the patients stuck unde my nose on Saturday night.
Glad you all had a lovely day on Sat. Elaine.

P.S. Is anyone doing this GI diet

I lost 2lbs - my daughter is v. chuffed with me (I've kept up with her exercise "regime" and wine rationing!).

Not the best of weeks for me, I stayed the same, but my excuse is I have been to 2 bbq's with lots of food and drink, the last 2 weekends. Must try harder this week.

Well done to all those who have lost this week.

Sue

I'm extremely fed up today having lost nothing, zilch, nichts, rien. I just don't know what more I can do - I'm eating very sensibly and healthily, no alcohol at all and exercising every day - swimming between 30 - 40 lengths or walking 3-4 miles every day without exception, yet the weight (and I've got 4 - 5 stone to lose) just sits there like an enormous lump of lard (which it is!!). I am really, really fed up - even 1 pound a week would be something. I've got to this stage so many times before and given up but I really don't want to give up - I just want to lose some weight!!! If anyone can wave a magic wand, or failing that, offer me some advice or support it would be very very welcome!! Sorry - I'll stop moaning now - I know there are a lot worse things in life and I've really got nothing to complain about - but, as many of you will know, it's just so disappointing to try so hard and then get on the scales to find you weigh exactly the same as the week before!!!
Well done to everyone who's done well this week. :sunny:

You seem to be doing everything right Di, a lot more exersise than me.
What are you eating? Hopefully it will balance out and start dropping.

Gosh, Di, that sounds so familiar. We joined a gym a couple of months ago and I have religously been 3 times a week doing my fat burning regime, plus swimming 2-3 times a week. I lost 9llb fairly fast, but over the last 4 weeks, nothing.

I have 4st to lose to be "target" weight, but to be honest, my real goal is to fit in my size 14 jeans again and I can probably do that if I lose 2 1/2 stone.

Im so close to giving up. Im due at the gym tonight and the thought of it is not appealing one bit. I do find it very hard and when there are no results at the end, it all seems pointless. The only thing I can think of, is that Im doing quite a bit of weights at the gym (on the advice of my trainer)...I think my flab is turning to muscle!

Hi Di, commiserations on your plateau, I know the feeling, haven't been particularly good for the last week or two and finding the motivation has really gone, want to get another stone or perhaps two off before november so will have to buckle down, maybe you should relax the exercise ( and by the way well done on doing so much) for a few days and hopefully it'll give you a kick start when you start again.

Thank you so much for your support - it really helps!!
Berwyn - I'm eating low fat foods plus lots of fruit, some pasta, some wholemeal bread. Think I might increase my protein intake - I think Karen said a few weeks ago that that could help. It's nice to know a nurse takes an interest - I haven't met a doctor yet who does - their eyes just glaze over when a menopausal woman walks in!!!
Allie - that really made me feel better knowing I'm not the only one and you're absolutely right - it does seem pointless when there are no visible results. I've lost a stone in 2 months but I have to admit (for the first time to anyone) that I bought some thyroid boosting tablets over the Internet when I started and have been taking those. Just over a week ago I decided it wasn't wise so stopped taking them and the weight loss has come to a grinding halt since then.
Carol, thanks for the tip - relaxing the exercise sounds a very attractive option at the moment!!!
Thanks everyone!!! :grouphug:

I have lost 1 1/2 lb in the last four weeks!!! amazing as I am eating loads for me and baby (any excuse eh!) Although I have gone up a trouser size as nothing fits around my belly anymore ;) Mandy wanted me to tell you when I got bigger ;)

Mandy...Book that holiday now :) Like you need an excuse ;)

Elaine...sounds like you had a wonderful weekend, please post a picture of your DD :)

Berwyn...you did so well this week, hopefully you will have a loss next week.

Sarah...Well done you :)

Sue, Di, Carol and Natalie ...fingers crossed for next week for you.

Allie...do you think you are eating enough with all that excercise? Perhaps speak to your trainer again and maybe they could try a new program with you? Fingers crossed for next week.

diana, do you eat the same things everyday? and stick to the same times for meals/ if you change everything and eat foods and change your meal times, this could give you the boost you need.
i always get into the rut of eating a jacket potato for my tea with salad, and i find after a while my weight just stays the same, so i try and change everything around , or more likely i give up.
also you could try having your main meal alot earlier and maybe not eat after a certain time at night maybe no food after 7 pm.
hope this helps :wizard:

kaylee
congratulations on going up a size.....the one time in your life when thats a joy :rotfl: :rotfl:
hope you and the baby are both well :)

Thanks Netty - I really appreciate your help. Yes, I do stick to the same things all the time as I hate cooking! I'll have to try to add a bit of variety to what I eat and when I eat it!! :)

Diana, I share your pain!!

I have stayed the same again - 2 weeks running! Despite exercise and so much self denial I may turn into Mother Theresa  Picture the scene: my family & I sat on the seawall yesterday at Exmouth in the blazing sunshine. Jon & the girls with "real Devonshire ice cream" in varying exotic flavours and me? With some apricots :(

I wouldn't mind if only a bit of weight was coming off :( though the odd thing is my clothes are getting looser and looser, it just seems the weight that doesn't change :confused3 So Allie, I understand. It's not fair is it?!!

Very well done to all the losers this week (I don't mean losers in the offensive sense of the word, naturally ;) ) and keep going to everyone else (me included :( )

Elaine - yes please to your photo!

Poor you Karen - it's even worse when you've been a saint and a martyr all in one, isn't it? Well they do say that virtue is its own reward (or they used to!!!) but personally I'd like a more visible reward such as the scales budging!!! My clothes seem to feel looser too Karen but I think I'm just trying to convince myself that something (anything???) is happening!! Well, it does make it easier when you know other people are in the same position so let's embark on another week of self-denial!! Oh joy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :teeth:

Don't forget Di that if you are doing enough exercise the fat turns to muscle and muscle weighs more than fat. So you can be getting fitter without necessarily any drop in weight.
As to you comment earlier about having a nurse keeping an eye on your health, if I was any good at that i wouldn't be on this thread in the first place :rotfl2:
