For about a week now I have been having head twinges. Not really painful but they are noticeable. They are mainly on the top of my head slightly to the right but I have felt a few in other places. They aren't constant but do seem steadier at night. Any idea of what these could be? Could it be sinus, or migraine (event though it's not that bad)? Could it be all the Splenda I use? Or could it be worse, like a tumor? Im a paranoid person and just wondering if the twinge is a common thing or a "go to the Dr. immediately" thing. If it's "go to the dr", what kind? A neurologist?

Disclaimer: I know that anything anyone posts is only their opinion and not medical fact. I'm just trying to figure out what my course of action - or inaction - should be.

Sure, it could be a tumor. Or it could be nothing. No way for anyone on here to know.

Yes, you should go to the doctor. Start with your regular old doc. If you need a neuro, he'll tell you.

Cool-Beans, does your name come from a novel? I am reading a novel right now that one of the characters says Cool Beans a lot...

As for the head twinges, If they don't go away, see a doctor. If they last over 2 weeks, see a doc. Stop using splenda for a week and see if they go away???

I started getting them as a teenager and went from doctor to doctor - all who assured me they were nothing to worry about. I was later diagnosed with MS, but I really don't think the head twinges have anything to do with that.

In 25 years, I've become so used to them, that I barely bat an eye when one hits me. I hope yours turn out to be the same thing.

But as others have said, if they keep on happening, go see a doctor - at best, they'll tell you not to worry and you can have a little peace of mind.

I get stuff like that all the time. I figure it is stress.

I also have a "twinges" on my left temple. Now that I hate. I have talked with my doc and an ENT. They don't know. I had a CT scan so I know it isn't my sinuses.

If I want to explore it I have to see a Neuro.

Does it feel more like it occurs on the outside of your head rather than inside like a headache? I hope that makes sense. If it is more on the outer part, it could be from clenching your jaw. I have TMJ and I get twinges on the upper left side of my head. It is always in the same spot. It is because of the tendons and clenching my jaw.

I just found out yesterday that I need surgery on my neck. I have what's called occipital neuralgia, and that causes some strange feelings on the top of my head. Sometimes they're just a tickle, sometimes they're really quite painful. The neuralgia is a side effect from a more serious problem with my spine. In my most humble and non-medically educated opinion, anything that involves wonky nerves should be addressed. Don't wait for it to become something bigger than you can handle.

You know, I have very bad TMJ. Had 4 surgeries and there is no cartilidge left in either side of my jaw. And the pain does seem more outside. Maybe thats it.....

Actually splenda does give me headaches , as well as any type of artificial sweetner, so I avoid them at all costs.:headache: :headache: :headache: , so that might be a problem if you are having alot.

I get that a lot when I have a sinus infection. Let us know what the doctor says.
