Olivia: She smiled to suppress any awkwardness talking about her sister might bring, but also understood if Nan's family was embarrassing or not worth mentioning, she had felt the same not long ago. "Maybe you could try some new things this year then, like going outside a few times a day," She said with a laugh. "I plan on being more outgoing, at least that's what my mom said to say."
Mom: "Well, Ms. Poppins, I've told her not to use innappropriate language at school. I don't know what she was thinking. She'll take whatever punishment she gets, right Marci?"
Olivia: "I'm Olivia. It's nice to meet you, Nan."
Nan: "Nice to meet you too Olivia."
Olivia: She smiled, twirling her pencil between her fingers. "I like your hair color by the way, my mom doesn't let me do anything to mine but I've always wanted to try blonde."
Nan: "Thanks. I, uh, like it too. I needed a change and, well, it turned out great. I like your style, your outfit's great."
Olivia: Holding out her arms, she looked down at her cardigan and romper with a smile. "Thanks, it is one of my nicer outfits. I usually try to look nice on the first day of school at least."
Olivia: She nodded, shrugging her shoulders. "Yeah, true." Looking to a clock hanging on the wall she realized class would be over soon and briefly wondered how the rest of the day would go before turning back to Nan. "So, where are you from?"
Nan: "California. You?"
Olivia: "Montressor." She paused, realizing not everyone may understand her home. "It's a planet, not too far away," She explained.
Nan: "Oh, wow." She'd had trouble with aliens in the past, but she didn't let her uneasiness show. This one so far showed no signs of plotting world domination.
Olivia: "Yeah. I don't have an extra head or anything though," She half-joked with a smile, a small bit of anxiety forming in her gut. "I'm completely normal, and so is my mom and brother." The mention her family friends who were dog and cat hybrids became a subject not to be brought up, she noted to herself.
Nan: "Wouldn't exactly be the weirdest thing I've ever seen, or the weirdest person I've ever met." Bob and Insectosaurus...those were the weirdest, though Gallaxhar was up there as well. It was true that Link and Dr. Cockroach could be weird too, but compared to the previous three they were positively normal.
Mom: "Ok. She's fine with that, right Marci?"
Mike: He started thinking about ideas.
