I'm so excited to be hosting my first DIS digi-scrapping challenge!! :cool1:

Disney has some wonderful lyrics in its historical songbook. From "Whale of a Tale" to "Can You Feel the Love Tonight," Disney has released many memorable songs throughout the years.

Your challenge this week is to scrap a Disney lyric (or lyrics). It can be anything!

Here's a few of my favorites (feel free to use them!):

"A dream is a wish your heart makes, when you're fast asleep..." - A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart Makes (Cinderella)

"Like a bolt out of the blue, fate steps in and sees you through..." - When You Wish Upon a Star (Pinocchio)

"I know every mile / Will be worth my while / When I go the distance / I'll be right where I belong." - I Can Go the Distance (Hercules)

The only other part of the challenge is to have your layout reflect the quote in some way, whether it be through your journaling or photos!

There will be 2 winners as always - 1 random and 1 I pick! :woohoo:
You're playing for a gift certificate for $10 to my store! (I sell at The Digichick and have some cute things that can be used for Disney layouts in there!) :yay:

Ooooh, this sounds so fun!!! And there are so many choices, too.

I'm in! Now to pick a song, etc. That'll be fun - and a bit hard, too. But I do love a challenge!

Can it be a lyric from a ride / show or does it need to be from a movie?

This was a bittersweet layout to create. I've been wanting to scrap this precious time in my daughter's life... a time when she and Woody were inseparable. :( The song from Toy Story 2 was written about Jessie, but my daughter was attached to Woody. Even though he lost a boot, he was always clutched in her little hand. He went everywhere ... to church (picture in white dress) and even to Disney World with us in 2001 (pictures in orange and gray shirts).

I took the bottom photo tonight of him in the Disney bin from underneath her bed. It's so sad to see him laying there with his missing boot and worn jeans. I know he looks that way because he was so loved by a little girl. I showed my daughter this layout just now and she immediately teared up and ran and got him! You're never really too old for a sentimental toy, huh?

The text below the bottom picture reads "Gone are those sweet days of little hands clutching a favorite toy." Those of you with little ones, enjoy these precious days because they go so quickly. <sigh>

Thanks for hosting this challenge. It was the inspiration I needed!

Wow Susan, that really brought tears to my eyes! I loved the way you used the string to highlight Woody in each picture!

Whatever you want! I can't be strict with the rules....it's supposed to be a fun thing!!

And WOW on the layouts so far! :-) Keep up the amazing work!

WOW! What a sweet layout and I, too, love the looped string to point out Woody.

Wahhhhh!!!! *wipes tears and blows nose* This is absolutely the very definition of scrapping. I too love the loops highlighting Woody.

Susan - Awesome LO!! Absolutely perfect! What a great memory this will be.

 Wow! This layout really hit me - they grow so fast! Great Job!!!!

ooooh awesome challenge! Awesome prize! Can't wait.

Fran - so cute! PERFECT lyrics for your page. LOVE the carriage journaling paper.

Susan - Like everyone else this totally choked me up. I always tear up at that part of the movie and this was no different. That last picture of Woody in the box about broke my heart! What a neat page. Even though its a little sad, its awesome that you documented it.

Here's my entry. I think I'm having scrappers block because I haven't really scrapped much lately!

What a fun challenge! This was a no-brainer for me! Hands down, my favorite movie is Peter Pan. I love everything about it! I get all goofy each time we ride the ride in wdw. My kids and hubby make fun of me and my sentimental ways! Anyway, thanks again for such a fun (& sentimental :) challenge. As you can see, I got carried away with a 2 pager! I was pretty giddy when I found this Peter Pan kit from Britt!

Y'all's LOs look so great! I was particularly touched by Susan's about Woody. The little 'uns do grow up so fast, don't they? Way too fast for my liking, that's for sure.

Here's one I did... I may re-do it one day to be more "scrappy" and less "magazine-y" (is that a word?) but at the time it was most important for me to get the song down on paper. I often tear up when I hear this song because we've been going through some tough teenager times lately. It's so hard when you see the child's potential and they just don't want to do the work or whatever to realize it. But there's been light at the end of the tunnel and I know he'll come out the other side of his teenaged years with a drive and determination that will enable him to reach any heights he wants.

Anyway... enough rambling... here it is. Click for credits.

I really like the way you've got your son "floating". I can never seem to do that without taking out too much of the subject or leaving too much of the background.

(What's the song from? I can't seem to place it.)

Everything Britts:
Paper from Dreams Do Come True
Word Art from Mermaid Lagoon
Title is her BRAND NEW Razzle Dazzle Alpha (recolored)
Everything else is from Her Royal Highness

This is one of the pics from our Grand Floridian shoot. :)
The page is pretty basic because I'm doing a page for each person who went on the trip with us and it flows.

Thanks! It took forever but I kind of liked the effect.

According to dtuneslive.com it's from Aladdin, but it must have been on a demo version or something because I'm pretty sure it's not in the movie or on the CD. I could be wrong. But anyway, that's where it's supposed to be from and it's just so "right" for living through the teenaged years! :-)
