DIS Digi-Scrappers Challenge #7 (5/28 - 6/3)

Yzerbear19,

Thanks for the tips on how to consolidate the layouts in one place. It really helps to go back to them and look at them all in one place! One of the things that I love about these challenges is that is makes you do something that you would have never done or never thought to do. Last week it killed me to only put two pictures on the page. I probably would have put 4 or 5 if the maximum of 2 had not been a requirement! I used to put everything straight too - until one of my girlfriends was helping me do a traditional layout and she put the pictures all askew but the page somehow still had balance. Thanks for playing along!!

I really like the Villians layout - I never know what to do with that float! Now I have a lout to scraplift ;) if you don't mind!

The swirly thingy is a perfect element on this page.

I LOVE YOUR LAYOUT - even with the pictures all askew:rotfl2:

YAY! I can finally add mine! I had it uploaded last night but it was too late to post. Today at work they decided to try out some new software that blocked most of our Internet usage. This included the DIS because its a "discussion board." :furious: Rumor has that its only a trial and won't stick around since most people were :furious:. So I'm happy to have the DIS back! Going all day without it is not fun.

Anyways, here is my layout:

I decided to focus on my favorite float: the Villans. I used a title I had used for one of my paper layouts, which comes from a sign we bought at the Salem Witch Museum in Salem, MA. Putting everything askew was irritating me since I like things straight!

Here is my LO. It is from the Christmas Fantasy parade (2006). As I think I have said before... I lost my camera at the end of this trip... and have been using my mom's pics... but the ones of this parade were not really usable. Thanks to Gregg Hall Photography, "Master Mason" here on the DIS boards, for allowing me to use his photos for my scrapbook.

I love the Stars & Motor Cars parade, and was sad when I heard it was leaving. I didn't think it would still be there when we went for our mini-trip in March, but we caught one of the last days of the parade. I wanted to journal more on this LO, but I didn't have room.

Thanks for all the advice and links about tearing. I definitely have to try it, but I downloaded a freebie today that, by luck, had a torn paper in it already!

Oooh, Heather, I love it! I really like how you used the bracket frame and the star circles. I never got to see the Stars and Motor Cars parade :( I'm going to be SURE to see block party bash this year so I can at least say I have seen a parade at DHS!!

Pooh - I LOVE the frames! and the way you have the date tucked in on the side.
Yzerbear - great color combination. And I love the title!
kswm - great layout of the parade and I love the way it kind of provides closure for you. Lvoe the glittery lettering too.

SleepingBean, I'm with you.... waiting is hard! Maybe we need more challenges? Even if there isn't a prize or anything? I, for one, don't care too much about winning. I mean, I'm not going to say that it wouldn't be wonderful becuase it would, but for me the fun is in doing the challenge.

:)

Yz- love the color combo for the villian float. The villian float was one of my girls favorites! It was such a surprise to see the Villians right in front of us, and it seems like the actors were all great and right on cue for their wicked ways!

Heather - I think that is my favorite and I can't even say why. It's just a great combination of everything and my favorite blues! Love it!

loveGoofy,

I can see your layout if I copy and paste the link into my browser - but I can't get it to show up in the thread - any suggestions from anyone out there - her layout is also posted at ScrapMaters.

Everything on the page is perfectly coordinated - I LOVE LOVE LOVE the stick pins holding the photos and date in place. i also like how you can see the paper torn on both sides and the title!! Thanks for participating.

I wish you all could see it because it really cool looking! If anyone can help...

I love that parade too! My Girls loved it so much last year that we watched it twice! It is always a little sad when they retire a parade. On my Honeymoon in 1999 there was a MULAN PARADE and it was sooooooo beautiful.

I love your layout. I love the blues too and the torn piece is perfect. I love all the elements - the brackets, the sparkles, and the "real" looking journaling.

Great Job!! Thanks for participating.

Now I think I am crazy - because I can see all of it - instead of a red X!!!!!

Love Goofy -- I can see your layout now, too! I couldn't see it the first time either. Weird. That looks like a cool parade. It is so interesting to see the parades and rides from DL. I guess I always just think everything there is the same as WDW, but they are all so different and cool! OK, back to your layout, I really love how you did the title and arranging of the pictures!

Finally did mine- This was hard for me, I'm not big on putting my pictures askew either....but it turned out ok in the end. Would have never even thought of this layout without this challenge, so thanks!

Torn White Paper & Alpha- I got these before I kept things organzied. I don't know.. :( Sorry. If anyone reconginzes it, let me know so I can give proper credit.

Everyone else has great layouts. And the Wicked one gave me an idea for my recent trip to see Wicked (the play)for the 3rd time. I'll be buying that kit.....

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Tinker I really like the way your LO came out. What a cute idea. I will probably scraplift your idea on our next trip to Disneyland. I love the B&W with the color parade photos. Such a great idea!!!

WOW!!! This is an amazing layout! I love the title - I love the concept. I have never thought to take a picture of my girls from behind as they watch the parade. I love the colored pictures at the top and bottom. I think they look great askew.

Isn't it amazing to watch our children dream? ::yes::

Thanks so much for participating and putting up with my requirement to make all the pictures askew!!!

It brought me to tears several times on our trip in May. It's just an overwhelming feeling to see it... to me, it's what Disney is about... that's why I love it so much...:lovestruc

Thanks for the compliments on the layout!

The board has been really quite this weekend. I hope there are a few others that have something in the the works :) I have really enjoyed the parade layouts so far!

Hi I'm new to the creative community and digital scrapbooking, I have introduced myself properly in a new thread that i started earlier.

Here is my layout, it doesn't meet all the requirements but I like it too much to change it now. I just wanted to share it with you all, it would be lovely to get some opinions on how I'm doing. I really want to learn how to do all the amazing techniques that you all use and where to find the beautiful templates so I can improve my layouts for our next trip.

Hope the image size is ok :)

Hi guys! Sorry I've been so invisible lately! It's been a busy week!! I am soooo loving all these LOs. Sorry I haven't had the time to comment on each one like I normally try to do! :) I REALLY love them though. SO FUN to see all the parades! So many that I've never seen!

I do love the parades!! :)

I think I'll go scrap my page now! :) :) hehehe

xoxo

I love the "dream in color" b/w image background. Great idea!

And the next one down...I love the cars parade and how the images tell it all! I can't wait to see that parade!
:)

Loving everyone's LO's! So nice to see so many different takes and as many different parades. I'm definitely going to have to do some Disney traveling in the future!
