There is a town near here. Each time I've type ****ord, the DIS sensor does that to it. Never could figure out what was so wrong with the first 4 letters of the word. Until I googled those 4 letters. * * * _

Learn something new everyday. Guess the DIS got that one right. ;)

I changed a bunch of the words that are censored out on one of the MB's that I moderate so when someone writes a particularly nasty one it's replaced with the names of a Disney character instead of asterisks.

Now THAT's funny!!! :rotfl:

Ive never typed anything that was sensored but now I am just dying to know what the first 4 letters are to your town, lol.

I would also like to know what the name of the town is!!!

I think I'm glad I don't live in that town!!! Imagine typing in the name of your town only to find ****ord all the time!

How 'bout giving us the Zip Code? :)

I don't know about the OP, but I live in CT, and a town near us is named ****ord. When I was posting about it last year, I noticed that it censored out the M-I-L-F. So, in the event that you CAN'T see that, it's M ilford. :rotfl:

seriously... ?

I've seen high school kids wearing tshirt that say future _____

or _______ in training. Well, you get the idea.

On the "Star Wars ABCs" game thread, I once tried to type "Boss N-a-s-s". It came out "Boss N***".

There's a politician who's in trouble right now for using the word "queer" in one of his stump speeches. This at a time when there are TV shows titled "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy" & "Queer as Folk"...

I think it is Political Correctness taken too far, in my opinion. It's gotten to the point a guy can't type in SOB... :stir:

Now that's just silly. I live in a township with the same name. I KNOW what the acronym means but the word filter should be able to separate the use of just the acronym and when it's used in conjunction with a proper name.

But it's ok for that particular group to make fun of such names. How many times and you seen black comedians use the "n" word in their routines. Try using that if you're white.

I work for a church in a nearby town, goes by First PC of ***ord. I had to get the web filter to override our website name because of that same problem! Its a church for heaven's sake! If it is within a name, it should not be an issue. I changed filters and now it isn't a problem, this new one doesn't recognize that term if it is within another word.

Charade, I wonder if we live in the same area?

Ever since I typed Dick Van D-Y-K-E and got Dick Van ****, I gave up on thinking there was ANY sense whatsoever to the DIS sensor.

Redneck and hillbilly are fine, though. Some terms that may or may not be offensive terms are OUT, others are in.

Whatever.

OK, can someone help me? What is wrong with D-Y-K-E and M-I-L-F?

I didn't learn those during my English class...

D-y-k-e refers to a person of the lesbian persuasion (the more masculine one of the relationship).

M-I-L-F is from Internet porn & made more popular by "American Pie" - abbreviation of "Mom I'd Like to ****"

At least they haven't blocked "Snarky" yet... pirate:

Thank you for the clarification. At least I learned something today! :)
