Now I am getting ready to go on my DD 8th grade field trip on Friday. We are going to Cedar Point and a Water park in 2 days. I hope I can do this. My iron is low and I was supposed to go in to get IV infusion of Iron but can't fit me in until Monday. I am very tired. I asked them to call if they found that they had room for me. I honestly can say that I will be glad when this is over.
Do you have friends that can step in a bit perhaps so you can rest a little at some point during the day? Even in the car if necessary! I remember the last time going to Six Flags it was unusually hot and I got heat stroke (but didn't realize it until later). I was miserable sitting on a bench in the hot sun with a whopping headache wishing I was at WDW so I could go back to the room! :rotfl2: (And that was not even during chemo!) Make sure you stay really well hydrated and out of the sun, Hun. I sure hope others can help you out. :worried: Please make sure they know how you're really feeling!! I'm sure they'll want to help, but they have to know!

I do not know any of the parents that are going. I couldn't be on the planning committee and the 3 parents that I knew were on the committee, are not going. I didn't understand. How could you plan and not go? So i don't even know who I am rooming with :scared1:. Most of the teachers and few parents know my health condition. My DD is nervous. She says are you sure you want to go? I don't want to be a burden but I must admit, I am nervous too. I have a call into my doctor to see if they can squeeze me in somewhere.

GAGWTA ladies!

It is SO nice to see the pictures and read the trip reports!! Although I am envious! Just want to reach in the pics and hug you all. Laurie...you look "maaahvelous"...different hair (and glasses?) from when we met at RFTC in 2008 (is it really almost 3 years?!) both are very becoming! Sha, so great to "see" you and your mom again too, that is one beautiful smile you have!! MaryAnn, it is great to put a face with the name :thumbsup2, same for Patsmom and Lisa's Meg as well. You all look so relaxed and happy :goodvibes

Sure wish I could work out RFTC this October.....

Smilie, I am glad you posted that Splash picture....pure WDW joy!!

Pea- I am in complete agreement about the weather...no spring just cold, raw, then rain....now summer. I am thrilled DH put the bedroom window AC unit in this afternoon, as it was hot all weekend, and a bit uncomfortable at night....and tomorrow will be close to 90 in the afternoon

I am thinking of those of you having treatment

All is well here, just very very busy at work including some overtime hours, and am determined to keep up my Yoga on my own time...DIS computer time takes a backseat quite a lot, but I am here in spirit and try to keep up reading! :grouphug:

Wish you could be there too for the RFTC! I have a team for you to be on :goodvibes

BTW... the guy I am meeting up with (R.) is the one who came up with the name if I didnt say so before. Im getting anxious.

Don't be nervous, Sha. You just be your own sweet self and things will be great.

Don't be nervous, Sha. You just be your own sweet self and things will be great.

Just dont want to be rejected by him... after the BS that I went through with T. and the horrible things he said ... I dont think I could take another. Just want to be accepted with all my flaws and demons. I am trying not to read more into anything he has said or done, but all sounds good. One day at a time though.

Good afternoon ladies

Ann - good to "see" you. How is the fishing going. Any time for that with your busy schedule?

Candy - wow, you are one busy lady. I know your heart is so into everything for your dd. I hope your body will be able to keep up. Hope you have a great trip. Sorry about the refrigerator. You know I am going through that too. Its freezing the milk now and holding on by a thread.

Sha - you are such a wonderful you. I am sure everything will work out perfectly!

smiley - Love your splash mountain picture. You are brave. Looks like you and your dh had alot of fun!

Lisa - hope you are feeling a little better

Laurie - did you get the survey yet?

Well ds18 quit lifeguarding. He said school is too hard. He might fill in for his friend at another company after school is over the end of July. They were none too happy with his last minute quit. I told him he should have done it a little more gentler, but he had to change his class to another campus at night. So now he can help me with bible schooll. I have started working on the teaching material today. I also made 1 reservation for our upcoming trip. Today is the day I can. I only did Le Cellier lunch and I actually had to write 3 as there were no party of 2 available for every day I checked. Gheesh. I will work on the rest later on. Well I did 2 disney serveys. I told them about our Yacht Club room. How the ice machine was broken, the one mickey lamp was broken, and worse the hole in the ceiling with the wire hanging down. I doubt they care anyway. We arent going back there for those reasons plus our bleh meal at the captains grille.

GTAGWTA, Thinking of you all.

I understand your anxiety, Sha, and you are right to manage expectations. But honestly we all have flaws. Kind of what makes us unique and interesting. I hope you are able to relax and enjoy the moment.

Maryann, I doubt I will get that survey since I was off site. I am glad you told Disney about the room. Soot you did not like captains grill.

Thinking of Linda today and the tornados in your neck of the woods. Hope you are doing ok.

I hope you don't mind me popping in here for a moment. When I saw "Snappy" at the end of this thread, I thought to myself, "I don't remember posting there"!

Didn't realize there was another Snappy! I see you have a dog in your avatar, Snappy was the name of the dog my family owned from before I was born until I was 14. He was my best friend throughout those years.

Just wanted to say "HI!" :flower3:

Sha- I understand your nerves. It's hard to say not to worry or things will be alright. But from your posts here and what everyone says after they meet you, it is clear you are one special person. As long as you remember that, then what anyone else says may hurt you but in the end YOU know are NOT true. If I remember correctly this is an old friend, right? So you may find that you have a measure of comfort with him right away and all that nervousness may disipate! My Mom always said that if you have to change the way you act for someone, then it's clear that they don't love you for who you are. So Just Do U Girl!

LMP- I know this will not last long. We are only opening it when necessary and have taken every thing out of the freezer. My DH is off today and is going to look at another scratch and dent. If we don't find one there than we have just enough money to get one from sears. C'est La Vie!

Hi SnappyD!

So I have good news. My neice who is 26 is going on the 8th grade field trip! She called me at work to ask if I can watch my Great Nephew (Wow do I sound old). I told her only if she will go with my daughter and she took off a day from work and agreed. :cheer2::banana::banana: I called the school and because she taught there she has clearance already.:cheer2::cheer2: I couldn't thank her enough. She told me that she thought I wasn't feeling well and she has been wanting to go to Cedar Point. Her Hubby is starting a new job as a nurse here at the same hospital I work.

I spoke to my doctor's nurse and I couldn't get in today for iron infusion. So I have to wait until next week. The Pet scan came back good. There are a few things that they are watching but haven't changed. I scheduled my MRI to look at the tumor on my spine for next week along with the Nuero Surgeon (which by the way is leaving this practice). I really hate starting over with another doctor.

How's everyone else? Lisa, hope you are feeling better. Have you been out swimming?

Smiley how are you? I still laugh at that picture.

April-How are things with you and Mom?

Jacks- Have a good/safe trip

Candy, I am glad your niece is helping out. It will help to conserve your energy for graduation and the party.

Your niece sounds like a doll.

Ha, hi right back at you, I did a double take too once when I saw a post by you once on another thread a while back.

Yes, my doggie too is named Snappy, and she has gotten me through some tough times. She is 12 years old and slowing down a bit. She is a golder retriever/collie mix (we think), that we adopted in 2000.

When I returned from my last WDW trip last week, she whined and whined. I felt like whining too and I was thinking about her all the way back from the airport.

Love your signature by the way, from another era.

I feel like sometimes, but I bet my "era" is older than your "era," lo

Glad you posted. "See" ya later.

Thanks! He is an ex from years ago. I use to always get butterflies when I would see him. I still get nervous obviously... but all will be good. I sent him a package of info before his trip. Something a friend would do for her trips... I added a lot more info than she does. I asked him the other night how the trip is going and he said "OMG its so much fun thank you for all the stuff you sent its been very helpful". then he said he owes me some extra lovin.... :goodvibes:goodvibes

alright... I have to get ready for work. Then I will come back home and go. Few last minute things to pack.

Talk to you all soon!!!

Candy - Good luck on your trip and make sure you stay hydrated! The whole secret is to drink constantly, not just when you're thirsty. When you're thirsty it's already too late. I hope the kids behave for you.

Snappy & MaryAnn - Sounds like you had a great trip aside from the room problems. Any trip to WDW is good in my book. It's like the popular bumper sticker around here - "A bad day fishing is better than a good day at work."

Sha - Of course he appreciated what you did for him. You're a very thoughtful person!:thumbsup2

I started feeling better yesterday and just in time. DS had his last concert of the year last night (chorus) and I was able to go. It's only the second time I've seen them perform this year and it was wonderful. It's amazing how much talent they have at the high school level.

I didn't get great news from my PETscan, but I wasn't really that surprised. Three spots showed up and my oncologist thinks the gyn/onc in Miami is going to want to perform a "second look" surgery. I already have an appointment to see him on the 27th for my 6 month surgical checkup, but I'm hoping to hear something before then. My oncologist won't order any more chemo for me until she hears from him. He is notorious for not returning calls. I hate the waiting.

Good afternoon sistas

Linda - I hope you were not in the tornado path. Dh friend lives in Worcester and he said they just had bad weather. Hoping all is well.

Lisa - I am glad you are plugging along even with the test results. You always have so much determination. Hope the Miami dr. calls back sooner this time. Its so much better when everyone is communicating and on the same page etc. So glad you got to see your ds concert. I am sure you didnt want to hear the "S" word as I call it. But after my #6 and they said #7 I just felt like the surgeons got to do what they have to do etc. My thoughts and prayers are with you always sista:hug:

Candy - so glad you have some help. Hope the refrig. works out. We might go shopping this week end. I think I am thinking of just the freezer on the bottom and no french doors and stainless steel. I will probably check out Lowes.

Laurie - hope things are getting back to normal. Have you heard from dd?

Sha - wishing you a wonderful week end. Cant wait to hear all about it!

smiley,Cheryl - how are you feeling sistas?

Well a week from tomm. dh heads off to china again and then he showed me his july trip to China and Russia. I think I am going to save all those miles for the Grand Floridian next May and split it with the Beach Club. Nothing like a free week at Disney! He also said he needs to go to Calif. and Wash. again. Can you say miles and Disney?

Ds21 is driving me crazy. Refusing to study again etc. He sorely tests my patience. Ds19 needed a lab coat for class. He looks like a mini dr. Kinda cute. His old boss keeps hassling him on the phone to come and lifeguard. This girl wont take no for an answer, gheesh.

Less than 2 weeks before my testing and I am already getting nervous. I always do this though. I will be glad when its all over, but then the wait for the results ec.

GTAGWTA. Hope everyone has a great week end.

I bet not! I'm 54 - I fell in love with Green Day about 1 1/2 years ago after seeing American Idiot on Broadway - I saw it over 15 times!

Snappy dogs are the best! have a great weekend!:flower3:

Mary Ann, I will be praying that you get good results from your testing. My next round is in three weeks and I know how you feel! The waiting is the pits. By the day before the procedure I will be a nervous wreck.

Keep piling up the miles! If you go back next May, we might be there too. Depends on my daughter's schedule. But we are definitely going to F&W this fall. Maybe Snappy can talk her DH into a quick trip!

Prayers for everyone. Hope all the treatments and procedures have good results. And have a nice week end.

Sha, thinking of you this weekend. I hope you has a wonderfule time with your friend!

Hope everyone is enjoying today

snappyd - I told our snappy about another snappy on the comm. board.
There are also lots of Mary Poppins people too in different forms.

PatsMom - hoping your testing goes well too

Well I guess I think I am getting nervous already. Between today and yesterday I ate a whole leftover chocolate easter bunny that ds21 did not want.

GTAGWTA

Maryann, I do the same thing when I am nervous. Will your DH be there to take you for your cancer testing?

I think the aniticipation is the worst part of this. It feels like it is hanging over your head. I feel like too with some issues right now.

I would like to just get things over with.

Lisa, I am sorry your test results showed some problems. The 27th sounds so far away. I hope you can move your visit up. Keep us posted.

We are going to DH's 40th high school reunion tonight, and mine is next Saturday night. We are going to stay at my friend cindy's house afterwards so we don't have to drive back late. I have not seen her in a while so I am excited.

DH's class had a "stag" night last night in a bar down there. He told me that as people walked in, those already there siad, ok, you must be with the Brother Martin HS reunion, you look old and confused.

Not sure I liked how that sounds. First rain in many days

I just got home from buying some casual stuff to wear. Gap was having 40% off sale stufs, I got a skirt, tank and nice shirt, and a belt for $41 including tax!

It is raining and I don't like the thunder and cloud to ground lightning strikes. First rain in many days. I just want it to stop storming before we leave.
