I would love the lin, Maryann, please pm it to me.

Thanks.

Linda, thanks for posting the story about Mrs. Kerry. i had not seen it yet. Sounds like her case must have been a difficult one to diagnose? I wonder if Mrs. Kerry's doctors mixed up the tissue samples like what happened to my friend who had her gland removedwith the supposed case of thyroid cancer?:confused

My friend is still trying to get her thyroid med right. She is lightheaded and has headaches. This gal is no drama queen, she is a very savvy and successful engineer.

Hey cheryl and Elizabeth.

Merry Christmas all.

I am listening to John Denver singing about snow in Aspen on the CD playing and trying not to think about all the puddles and mud outside.

Barbara, thanks for posting about Merry. So glad all is well, Merry. Have a wonderful holiday trip to both of you lovely ladies and your extended families.

My gumbo was good, we ate from it for 3 days. Now on to turkey and oyster dressing!!

GAGWTA!!

Hoping for good health for all in 2010!

Good morning ladies

Hmm, not a creature was stirrring, not even a mouse, and that is why I am on the computer as all the 3 ds are sleeping

Cheryl - wishing you a wonderful holiday too. Nice to see you dropping by

Laurie - when I click on your profile it doesnt say I can send you a pm, is this right?

Well one good news, ds22 got the internship at some company that is something to do with financial investments, its pretty close to the college and near the local airport and I think he will work there 2 days a week, for no pay but good experience. Its also not too far out of the way for his basketball coaching sessions, games etc. I told him to take it as the other places were strange like a flower shop etc., I guess it helped too when we told him to send an e mail thank you for the interview. I am just so happy to be here to celerate christmas with my family, last year I could barely breathe or do anything before the surgery etc. and the news they were giving us then was not good. But God is bigger than all of that and so PTL here I am today. Dh and I dont exchange gifts, but I had ds make a little photo from our trip, not the greatest, but o.k. in front of the castle. I havent looked at our photo pass pics yet. Our camera stinks, so I guess this will have to do for now. Tonight the candelight service, tomm. the parade and chillin out.

GTAGWTA, Blessings to you all always.

I have gotten pm's as recently as Dec 7, so I am not sure what is up with pms.

Maryann, I will pm you my email address.

Congrats to your DD22. The experience will look great on his resume.

Laurie - I tried sending youboth, an e mail and a pm. Hope you get it.

Maryann, I received both!!

Great story!! did you write it? You did an awesome job!!

Loved the picture too!

Another bearded husband, although yours looks younger. Ann's DH also sports a beard.

Merry Christmas everyone!

Just finishing up some cooking. Had my Herceptin infusion this morning. DD made my sister-in-law's famous chocolate/peanut butter Rice Crispy Treats and I brought some for the nurses. They loved them!

We are going to 4 o'clock Mass today and having Christmas dinner at my sister's. Italian dinner per our tradition - lasagna. I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday!:thumbsup2

Merry Christmas everyone

Merry Christmas to all my wonderful friends here!!

You all deserve a happy and pain free day.

And a very merry GAGWTA!!

I had a great Christmas and I'm hoping everyone here did, too!:goodvibes

The kids were happy with their gifts and dinner at my sister's was wonderful. We played DS's new Trivial Pursuit game after dinner and everyone got along great. I managed to last five hours at her house and we came home and watched the Christmas specials we had missed. I also got a great night's sleep - I guess I was more tired than I thought!

Hooray, Lisa!! Glad to hear your Christmas was so lovely!

Family time is the best.

I went to midnight mass with my mom and DD14. Mom always picks up her 93 old friend Mina from the assisted living facility.

The music was magical and the church was so beautiful.

DH took DD21 an dDS19 Christmas morning as they were midnight mass cowards.

My sister's oyster dressing was better than ever. They bought the oysters from a local joint where they shuck them while you wait.

We pigged out on the lemon and chocolate dauberge cake like we had for Thanksgiving and some outgoing old guy in the bakery raved about the rum sponge cake so we bought that too.

My DH listened when I raved about the tea at the Waldorf, this wonderful stuff that comes individually in a cardboard pyramid with a leaf on the end of the string! He did not know the name of it.

He was searching Whole foods to no avail when he ran in to his boss's fiance and asked her if she knew anything about it Luckily, she advised him to just call the Waldorf. Those wonderful folks helped him out. I think I need to book a trip down there to thank them in person! LOL!!

So DH got on line and ordered the special pitcher to brew teas (I am mostly an ice tea drinker) and a boatload of the tea.

Not one to miss a chance to finalize his shopping in one fell swoop, he ordered a box to teas for all the ladies in his office.

I was clueless since he had it all delivered to his office.

The funny thing is that the tea is available at a specialty boutique about 3 miles from our house. Not sure about the pitcher though and it is the cutest thing ever.

He also ordered on line this amazing bird feeder that is truly a squirrel buster (that is the name). The perch closes the feeding holes if any weight is put on them, from a squirrel or a overly large bird. So far it is working better than all my previous attempts at squirrel protection.

Right now we have some frustrated and confused squirrels. They are making sweeps of the ground to see what the birds dropped on the sidewalk next to the window by my computer. It is role reversal time as the squirrels used to knock all the seeds everywhere and the BIRDS would resort to the remains previously. I am loving it!

DD19 got me a very potent deep tissue and percussion massager from Brookstone that is one of the 7 wonders of the world. It has an infinite number of settings and is draped over the neck and can be lowered down to the lower back.

DS21 gave me a box set of DVD's called blue earth. With 4 DVD's I am going to be submerged and be swimming with the lovely fishies for 4 hours.

DD14 knit me a warm scarf of beautiful jewel colors. It is still a work in progress as I accidently caught one of the needles in the car door on the way to midnight mass. She cried a little because she was not quite finished (she had been furiously working on it to get it finished), told me she was knitting it for me. She is my lovely angel.

DH took me yesterday to Macy's to pick out luxurious new towels for our bathroom ala the Waldorf, as he knew better than to choose the color.

I had a very successful Christmas. I like that they picked out things they knew I loved or needed.

Hope you all had a lovely Christmas.

How is the weather in your area? We are cold, but should get up into the 50's. We had the riding lawn mower battery recharged and need to do the yard as leaves have taken over the world here. Winter came and it is not raining so it is time to get cracking on the yard.

I need to go have some of my ice tea first to get fortified. I like to pamper myself, don't I?

Check out the tea sometime, it is called tea forte. The Waldorf and I both recommend it, not to mention the Windsor Court in New Orleans (another of those 5 star joints)!

I guess I will be needing to redo my kitchen floors in marble now! LOL! That will go nicely with the corner of the kitchen where Naj chewed on the baseboard when she was a puppy, right?

I read yesterday where Louisiana is the happiest state and New York is the unhappiest state!!!! I hope you are happy today Laurie as you are supposed to be this way every day!! However, I am also happy today because I am awake, on my feet, cleaning, packing, and my family was here for brunch! I'm happy that we are both happy regardless of the fact that you (Louisiana) are #1 and we (New York) are #51. From one end of the spectrum to the other ....

So glad you had a nice Christmas. We did as well and now comes the clean-up. Entertaining is over though and I am working on getting ready for our trip. There is a good possibility that Melissa (Merry Poppins) and I will get a chance to meet each other in WDW.

Hi to everyone and I probably won't be on for awhile so I want to wish all of you a healthy, happy, hopeful and peaceful New Year. Hugs, Barbara

I saw that study too, Barbara, it actually gave me a chuckle.

They are measuring happiness by being outdoors I guess.

The study takers obviously haven't been down here in the throes of August.

Can you say katrina or gustav?

Have a wonderful trip and give Merry a big ole hug in the event you do get together!! I am crossing my fingers that you do and I will be there in spirit.

Enjoy that cruise!! Enjoy those grandchildren!!

Snappy says hi, she is having wonderful walks in the sun! No rain!

Good evening ladies

Lisa - Glad you had a great christmas. I sent you the e mail address for the story.

Laurie - Sounds like you had a great christmas too. Sounds like your kids know about gift giving. Mine are challenged to say the least!1

Barbara - hmm, so we live in one of the unhappiest states? Well I wish I was living in Dallas again because we really liked it there. I hope you have a great cruise with your family too and that you and Melissa can get to visit with each other.

Our holiday was great, heah I am alive, its really great. Last year I was crying decorating the christmas tree because at that time the drs. said it was bad, really bad, and we didnt want to tell the ds, that is when they thought it was medullary and the dr. was already talking clinical trials since I already knew chemo and radiation didnt do too much for that type. Ds19 ruined christmas eve with his attitude again, but church was nice. He oromised not to ruin christmas day. I think he did make a comment, wow, you werent kidding when you said you didnt go shopping. I said, that is right!!. I made dinner and played simpsons monopoly with the 3 ds. I promised presents after christmas, really money they can do their own shopping. I am exhaussted and slept alot today after church. I am still tired, dont know whyl. Hmm, maybe its time for another b12 shot soon. I gave dh a oicture of us in front of the castle and a little note. He liked the picture ds gave him of them both together more. Oh well. Such is life!!

GTAGWTA. Blessings to you all always.

Hope everyone had a nice Christmas. I worked, and the kids have been sick. I'm not feeling great, either.

I thought you might enjoy an interesting article about breast cancer screening. (It's about breast, but cervical cancer screening was recently in the news as well, and I'm sure they'll be looking at more of this type of thing as time goes on, too.) Interesting commentary as well.

GAGWTA :santa:

EAT link would be nice, lol http://www.boston.com/news/health/a...ast_screening/?comments=all&plckCurrentPage=0

Hi everyone! We are back from our cruise and we had a great time. Very different from our usual disney jaunts but very relaxing and great family time. I will post more soon. Happy Holidays and Happy New YEar to all of you!:grouphug:

Good morning ladies

Linda - so sorry to hear you are not feeling well and the kids too. Hope you all get better soon

Maureen - glad you enjoyed your cruise

Laura - hope you are healing and resting before your next surgery. Do you know when it will be yet?

Candy - hootie who, where are you sista???

Lisa - I know you are out there, I saw another post you did about that invention!!

Fl Lisa - hope your treatment goes well this week

Laurie - hope you are surviving in your household with the kids too. Mine always seem to be constantly eating when they are awake:)

Sha - hoe you had a good holiday

Nothing too much new. A week from today is my voice test, oh fun, think of me Lisa cause I am getting scoped again:) No good looking interns for me, :rotfl2:but the dr. who saved my life so that is pretty good. Ds18 has already said he is going to a neighborhood girls for new years, fine with us. I am lucky if I can stay awake till midnight. Dh has infomed me he is going to Penn. for 2 days in about 2 weeks. I just hope it doesnt snow. We tried our new mickey pancake maker yest. It was a pain in the butt. Ds18 loves the disney blanket I got ds19, so they traded blankets and ds18 is obsessed with making ice pops with the mickey ice pop maker I got, hmm??

GTAGWTA.

LMP - Thanks for the link on the blood donation story. It was great ready and you are so fortunate!

lookingforward - I'm glad you enjoyed your cruise!

Pea-n-Me -- Sorry the kids have been sick and that you're not feeling well. I am so germ sensitive now that I even have the kids taking care to keep the germs away!

Going for #5 chemo at 8:30 tomorrow morning. I am just looking foward to the fact that there will only be one more after tomorrow!

Have a Happy New Year everybody!party:

Good late evening, hmm guess everyone else is sleeping:)

Lisa - hope your treatment goes well tomm, and hooray for one more after that!! Hang in there sista, you are doing great!! :cheer2: We gotta fight tough!!

Laurie - the story was a combo of me, dh and the lady who wrote it too from work. She told me she is also a thyroid cancer survivor. She had her surgery where alice did I think. Sh has heard of my rad. onc. So I guess she is well known.

Well my jaw is throbbing me, hmm oh the joys of cancer!! They told us before it will probably never go away (the pain) oh well. Such is life. I just hope I dont get too cranky. I dont want to start taking it out on anyone in the house. I though dh had a 1/2 day tomm. but he has to work all day. I just did a massive med order for ds and myself, since Jan. lst we each have to pay a $100 deductible I think. So I think as long as I ordered it before Jan. lst it will be o.k. I refuse to do mail order which they always send me stuff about. It will put my neighbor out of business if everyone did that, she is a pharm tech at the pharmacy etc.

We are just probably going to get some chinese food and watch tv, boring I know.A New Years toast with some sparkling grape juice (we dont drink alcohol and dh regifted all of it he got at work to other guys at work:)

Hope everyone has a happy new year celebration and here is to a pain free, cancer free, remission year for everyone too. GTAGWTA

Happy New Year!!!
