HYSTERECTOMY! Who has had one, and how did you feel afterword? What type of surgery was it? Did you recover within 2 weeks like they are telling me? Thanks!

Sorry, I don't have advice for you, just best wishes, prayers, and pixie dust:hug:

Had one in 1997. Best thing I ever did. I felt terrible for years and the surgery was nothing compared to what I had been suffering for so long. I had it done laprosopic (sp) and through the “V” rather than cutting a big incision (if you know what I mean) I’d had 2 c-sections so this was a breeze for me. The took out the tumor piece by piece – rather than as a whole.

I was able to drive within a week and could’ve gone back to work after a month. I did go on a quilting trip to PA after a month – a lot of walking but I rested frequently and was fine.

PM me if you want.

I had one in July. Total Abdominal Hysterectomy without ovaries removed. I was pretty much back to normal at 3 weeks and totally back to normal at 6-8 weeks. BUT that does not seem to be the norm. Check at this website - Hyster Sisters for a terrific message board. You will get every question possible answered there.
