DirecTV Music Channels Going to XM Radio

I paid my monthly DirecTV bill yesterday, and along the side of the bill they always put announcements, etc. I read them and saw where as of November 15 their music channels are now going to be served by XM Radio.

I am NOT happy about this!!

DH has XM Radio in his truck and I don't like it. I wouldn't pay for the service myself because it is not 100% music, there is still TALKING on many of the stations. I would pay for MUSIC but not TALKING!!

I have enjoyed the DirecTV music channels because it is 100% music and NO TALKING. I will definitely be complaining about this to DirecTV if there is talking on my favorite music channels after November 15!!

Ah. So you're the one. I think most people will love it. Dish Network uses Sirius. I don't have Dish Network anymore but I thought they were much better than whatever service they were using. There will be talking. Sorry, but it's gonna happen.

Right now all the music channels are 100% music, NO TALKING!! I don't WANT to hear TALKING when I'm PAYING for MUSIC!!!

I listen to XM sometimes on AOL. I hardly ever hear talking on the music stations. Maybe a short thing saying what station you are on.

Sirius has DJ's but they talk rarely and don't go on for long. But it's fun to hear Barry Williams on the 70's channel or some of the MTV VJ's on the 80's channel.

I prefer DJ's for some reason.

My DH also has XM in our van and I am with you about not liking it!! We run into so many dead spots around where we live, it's not funny. When DH called XM about it, they blamed the weather. 99% of the time it was sunny with no clouds in the sky. That really doesn't make sense, cause while in a car wash it worked just fine. Again, .

I would LOVE to get rid of them!!! Really getting tired of paying them every month, but DH won't budge.

Depends on how you look at it. YOU mind the talking. Not everybody does. I prefer a DJ as long as it isn't all the time. PLUS some people may prefer the playlist of XM over the one that Music Choice had on DirecTV. I know that I would.

BTW, I am not wholly unsympathetic, but this will really be a concern for VERY few people, to be sure. BTW, you pay for commercials if you have cable, right? Same thing except thay aren't selling you anything by talking.

Maybe you could make a 150 song mp3? That would give you several hours of just the music you want to hear, with no talking. And it is so easy to do.
