DIRECTV local channel menu screwed up????

For the last week our menu for local channels has “to be announced”. We can view the channels but there is no information on the menu for the program’s.

Any other DIRECTVer's having this problem or an I the only one being punished?


PS – yes I am very lazy … I don’t want to look in the paper copy of a TV guide.

At least you have tv I was looking forward to watching Remember theTitans tonight and at 8:00 our cable went out. I don't know if everybody's is out or if it is just ours.
I'm watching movies instead

for some reason ours just reads local channels, I think it was a couple weeks ago ors was saying to be announced.. That is quit annoying. I don't know what their problem is or was.

At least you have local channels Our "local" is considered to be 2 Chicago channels. Ya know the commercials with Marnie Brooks describing all the things you can do with your remote and how you can go to channel 101 or whatever.....we cant do that either. And then there are the PPV movies....DH's boss gets several choices while we only seem to have 4 at the most and sometimes one of those is the same movie as on another channel just a different starting time. At least it doesnt go out all the time like cable.

I'm located in the Philly suburbs and have Comcast Digital Cable. We have no menu services, no pay per view, no on demand. I can only view a menu thru Tevo. I did call Comcast and was told that this is due to the hurricane and they are aware and are trying to fix it but have no idea when it will be fixed.

Yep, Charlie, we've been having the same problem. Can't figure out what is going on. We've only had the system a few weeks and I hope this is not a sign of things to come.

When they moved the channels to the 800 range, DirecTV said that it would take a while for the descriptions to lock on. This usually hapens within 30 secs, but sometimes it never locks in. Go to one of the local channels and then leave it for a minute or so. Then hit the description and if it is there the menu should work as well.
