I need your opinions, pros, cons, anything of your satellite/cable company. One of these I've had for years, and they have just recently left an awful taste in my mouth. But to keep it interesting, I won't say which one... But would LOVE everyone's input on one or all of these. Because if one is better than the other, I'm changing, like yesterday!!
Anything you like, dislike... Whatever. Heck, what color is your dvr box? I don't care. I need to weigh it all before I tell mine to shove it. :hippie:

We had DISH but switched to Direct about 8 years ago and love it. One reason I prefer it is I don't need the multi LNB for locals as well as regular programming. Makes it much easier to use on the road with the MH..(We have 2 accounts so we can get Networks on the road from NY in the MH). Got the silver HD DVR at the house and the silver regular DVR in the MH.

Direct has treated us very well. Called several months ago since there are always deals for "new customers" and got a discount on our monthly bill. Also when we are gone on extended trips I can put the service at home on hold at no charge.

I use DISH and am very happy with the product and the customer service for home use. I work full time so I don't spend enough time on the road to justify having DISH for the camper, also. I can't speak to which is best for home and on the road.

I had Charter before and it was HORRIBLE! We were having picture quality issues and the first guy who came out said he knew what the issue was; but, he was not allowed to climb the pole and fix it even though he was qualified. I tried to get antoher guy out; but, they kept giving me a multi-day window of when they would be there. I tried to explain that I work an hour from home and I needed to know exactly when they'd be there. I escalated to a manager and he said "we don't give windows, we give exact times"; but, I still couldn't get an exact time. That's when I switched to DISH. Charter also has very few physical offices in the Fort Worth/Dallas area and there are always lines out the door. I can't recommend them at all.

We have had DirectTV for a year now. Had to switch out a defective DVR at month 10ish, but once going the reset hoops and all, I had a replacement the next day via FedEx. Also called with our new portabel satelite dish and they were helpful helping us to configure one of the receivers correctly. As far as service we have been quite happy. I will note our house was installed by the district manager so maybe we got some extra benefits there.

I am waiting to see if I can get them to continue the discounts from the introduction phase. Fingers crossed.

We just bought a portable satellite to use while RVing. It works at home, won't know about on the road until the next trip.

I use Dish, primarily because Direct does have my local channels, even though the have bee saying they are going to get them for the past 5 years. It would be nice if they all used a single satellite for al their channels.

We had Direct for years and I kvetched that DH had gotten the bill too high, so we switched to ATT UVerse when they came to the door. After 6 months, the salesman's pitch turned out to be hogwash and the UVerse went back out the door. We called Direct TV back and asked them what packages they had and low and behold it was bigger and better and cheaper than we could have wanted. Plus, now we can take our old box and turn it on for 5 bucks a month and stick it in the RV (we have a KingDome) and use it while traveling. When we are finished, we just turn the service back off for the next month. It is all done online. I am lovin' it.

Oh, and by the way, the stupid ATT never really worked in our neighborhood right.

We just got Direct TV about 6 months ago and it has served us well in the motorhome and now in the house. I was able to set it up myself after the initial time. It was a rocky start as the customer service people had no clue what to give me but it finally got worked out. I like all the channels. I don't know how I lived without DVR all those years...lol
