I know the route I am taking to WDW, but from looking at a WDW road map, I have a question about getting to FW checkin. A few sites, including Mapquest, tell about going thru the MK toll booth, and around that way. When looking at the map I have, wouldn't Bonnet Creek Parkway be better? or is this a one way. It seems like it would be a little faster than going all the way over to MK.

I am a little confused with the map.

Not sure which direction you coming from I4 ?, but yes you can go to Vista blvd and connect to FW. Fw is on Vista Blvd and there are no booths until guard check at FW.

How you get to FW does depend (somewhat) on how you get on Disney property. If you are coming from the new Western Way,SR429, then coming in through Maingate is no big deal, and more clearly marked. If you are coming from I-4 then the easiest thing to do is.. Follow direction signs to POR, go past POR and turn left at the light stay on that road you will pass the guest entrance to FW first then the main entrance to register is next, if you have a larger TT or 5th you may need to swing wide(into the other lane)to make the right hand turn into FW.

I will becoming down I95 south, then west on I4. When I looked at the directions Mapquest gave me, they had me take Epcot Center Drive to World Drive, thru the MK toll gate. I also saw a similar direction from a Disney web site. But I found another road map that has the Bonnet Creek Parkway on it, showing it connects to Vista and I am thinking, that would much closer than going over to World Drive. But again, I wasn't sure if the Parkway was maybe under construction and was not open yet, or if some other reason. I never rely on Mapquest for my directions, seems they always give the long about way to get some place, so I tend to try to make my own map. I also know some websites don't get updated alot with new info, thus the question about it.

Heck I am trying to commit the road map of WDW in my mind so once I get there, I will know....well hopefully know where I am going :lmao: .

Bonnet Creek(the road that takes you to POR) does go to Vista and is good way to get to FW, but it is not the way Disney wants you to go so they do not use signs or maps to direct you that way.

Do NOT use Mapquest! It's powered by Satan.

If you go in through the MK tollbooth you want to be far over to the right because you've got this weird sharp right that you have to take under the monorail right after the booth. The other posters are right; the 'back way' in is a lot simpler.

I love www.randmcnally.com for maps or www.google.com for their hybrid satellite/road maps.

Exit off 4 onto 526, take the first exit after you cross under the disney sign (says DTD area) and that is Bonnett Creek Parkway. Take Bonnett Creek Parkway and it dead ends on Vista Drive, take a left on Vista and Ft. Wilderness entrance is on your right!

(whispering)...that is the way I am going...but I will keep quite...don't want to give away the secret road :rolleyes1

Great directions but:
Note, the first FW entrance is for the day use lot. The 2nd one is for check in. (Just trying to save some confusion) ;)
