Hi There. Does anyone know if the directions on Disney's site (pasted below) lead to the parking garage? We fly into SNA tomorrow morning about 9 am and will drive straight to Disneyland. We'll need to park in one of the lots/garages. Just hoping to avoid any "turn arounds" so we can get there close to opening time. Thanks!

Traveling North on I-5
Disney California Adventure Park and Disneyland Park
  • Take the Katella Ave / Disney Way exit.
  • Proceed on Disney Way for approximately 0.5 miles to Harbor Boulevard and turn left (South).
  • Proceed approximately 0.5 miles on Harbor Boulevard and Disney parking will be on your left.

I think those directions will take you to the Toy Story parking lot, which is on Harbor south of Katella. I think you'd have to use the directions to the hotels if you wanted to get to the Mickey & Friend's parking structure.

Thanks Figment We want to park in the Mickey and Friend's structure if possible. Will Katella, Walnut, Ball, Disneyland Dr work for that?

Getting to the Mickey & Friends structure for northbound I5 isn't the easiest option, but, in general, follow the directions to the Disney hotels. However, when you turn left onto Disneyland Drive, stay in the three left lanes. Those will funnel into the Mickey & Friends structure (the right lanes head to the hotels and DTD).

Jen, the Katella, Walnut, Ball route will work if they aren't bypassing the M & F lot. Sometimes they block it and direct you to the Toy Story lot. To get around this. Do like your plan, but instead of turning right on Ball, go a little further on Walnut to Manchester, turn right, that is the frontage rd. It will turn into Disneland dr. When you go past the intersection that comes off the freeway, stay in the left lane. There will be a flyover. It will have the green arrows. This will go right to M and F and bypass the detour. Seems like they are routing everyone to TS in the mornings. It's a little complicated but it works great.

Parking at the Toy Story lot is the most convenient option if you are coming from SNA. Especially if you want to get to the park close to opening.

On tomorrow's podcast, Tony tests out the two parking lots for efficiency and shares the results of his "scientific" study. I'll post a link in a bit.

For our last trip we chose the Toy Story lot because it seemed like the shuttle dropped off closest to the front entrance and security check, with the least amount of walking. Can anyone confirm whether this is accurate or not? But it does seem that the shuttle probably takes a bit longer to get to the park than the trams from M & F lot, so if time is the issue that may be the deciding factor.

It really depends on a lot of factors. If the Toy Story shuttle stops at another part of the lot, how long it waits at signals and where it drops you off. M&F trams could also end up waiting to drop of if other trams are there and there are near and far spots. Neither is going to be absolutely faster or absolutely closer.
