I am starting to think the Baccalaureate is going to be emotional for me. At first I kept thinking - nah, I'm not going to cry! - but we had a class meeting today and just talking about graduation, senior banquet, senior class trip and deciding on a song for our class along with scheduling rehersals...I think I might actually tear up! I have been more than excited for college coming up but it's starting to become very bittersweet for me.

For those who graduated, what was the experience like for you?

For those who are graduating, what are your thoughts about this?

I know I'm going to miss some things about high school. I'm going to miss my friends, I'm going to miss that comforting feeling that I don't have to be independent...but I don't think I'm going to cry at the Baccalaureate or the graduation. All of the friends I'll be leaving behind, I'll be keeping in touch with.

I'm so excited about graduating. :) One more month! I am scared about what's coming up, though. Moving out, paying bills, going to college, becoming independent...they're scary thoughts but I know I'm ready.

what's the long b word mean??

and i mean, i'm only graduating from eighth grade, but some of my friends are going to different schools, and i'm kinda scared about starting a new "chapter" in my life, but everything will be okay. and i mean i will still have like all my good friends and i will still have the boards.

but i will miss middle school.

When I graduated high school I didn't get emotional or cry because I knew that we were all from the same area and had family to come back to so we wouldn't be away from each other forever and my brother was about to start at my high school so I knew my ties would remain there.

I am graduating college in May and I am still kind of in shock that it is happening so I don't really know whether I will cry that day or whether i will cry when it hits me later. The hardest part for this college graduation is going to be leaving my friends especially my sorority sisters. I live out of the midwest and so a lot of them I won't be seeing any time soon and these are my best friends in the world who won't be a part of my everyday life next year and that is going to be very emotionally trying.

Haha, I know, right? I'm also in 8th grade. I know, I'm still a youngin'. :) But, anyway, graduation. To me, its just ending this chapter of my life. Sure, I'm not going to the same high school as my friends next year. But I'll always talk to them, and see them whenever I can. Yes, I'm going to miss the good times I have/had with them during classes or lunch.

I sound like I'm going to laugh off my graduation, but, honestly, I'll cry, just like everyone else.

A Baccalaureate is uniting the class together one last time. It's a blessing ceremony so it's religious and held in a church. After the blessing, the class reminisces about times in high school and that sort of thing.

I heard your four years of college are the best years of your life and that they go by as quickly as greased lightening. I hope the first part is true and that the second is not. I want college to last a long time.

Well I don't have an opinion about graduation now. But I know when I left my school, I teared up a little. Not for one particular reason, just that I wouldn't be a normal kid anymore.

My life is so different now. Better.

Don't worry, It's just the end of one part of your life.

Haha, I love how you're so nonchalant about it. Oh, you're just ending a chapter of your life. No worries. :upsidedow

And thank you, Crazy and Caitlin for defining *scrolls down* Baccalaureate. :goodvibes

Be happy, don't worry :)

You know what I love? That word..nonchalant. I'm gonna use it more now.

It flies by...sorry to burst your bubble. I cannot even fathom the fact that I graduate in 4 weeks and in 5 weeks I turned 22.

Well, I am an upside down person. So I changed it.

*I knew it didn't sound right*

*bop*

Well, I am going to make the most out of college to gain memories that will last forever -- that way, no matter how fast it goes by...It'll always be there to go back to ;)

I want to make the most out of my college. It will probably be the only time I really "get out" of my hometown. I can't wait, but at the same time I am terrified.

Not knowing anybody, and I'm a rathar shy person in real life. (yes, really)

Who needs graduation now? I am only going to be going into my Sophomore year of High School and it's great. :D :cool1:

Hmm.. I will be invited to your party right, Front? LOL Virtually that is ;)

oooooh boy.
i can tell i will be hyper-emotional when it comes to commencement
(i guess that is canada's version of a baccalaureate)
our school system is super weird though....
my school has prom on june 1st, we leave school on june 25 and then we have to come back in OCTOBER for our commencement ceremony.
It's really weird and I totally don't understand it.
But that time the people who have graduataed have already started college/university/work or whatever they are doing, and they have to come BACK like 4 months later to get all their stuff.

Weirrrd.

I will be soooo emotional on the last day of school though.
I am a very emotional person, and I get so sad just thinking about it.
High school has been so far, the most awesome expirience ever, the good and the bad times, the parties, the drama, the fights, the new friends, everything! It's just been such a great time and I'm going to miss it.

I'm not living on res. in uni, so I won't get as much party time hehehe....but it should still be fun. I'm looking forward to it.
I'm still waiting to hear from ONE university and then I'll make my choice. :goodvibes

Good Luck to all the graduating Disers! Have a great prom! Enjoy high school while it still lasts! And I wish you guys all the best of luck in your post-high school lives!
