Direct or indirect eurostar?

Hi,

It looks like my friend and I will definately be going to DLP from friday the 6th to monday the 9th March next year, and I get to plan and book it all.

I have been looking at booking the indirect trains from Ebbsfleet, as my friend doesn't want to drive into London and park for the weekend. Eurostar said that Ebbsfleet was the best option. I was about to book today when I thought I would just check the Ashford route prices. The prices are now about the same, there is a £6 total difference.

My question is this, will the fact that the direct train get us to DLP just after 1pm and the indirect get us there just before midday, make any difference on a friday? Is it a real hassle to change trains when going via Lille?

I think we get about an extra hour on the last day if we go the direct train route, but either way we are there until at least 7pm.

I'd go with Direct just for pure ease, I wouldn't want to complicate things with changes because if something can go wrong for me then it will do!

We did indirect via lille in feb from ebbsfleet as it was so much cheaper than the direct route.
It was only a pain when trying to get luggage off at lille and then on again when we caught the next train to marne le vallee, but this was with 2 children, a large suitcase, a holdall and a buggy!! This time, we have booked a direct train as we got in early enough for the cheaper prices and it is a nice thought that once we are on the train, we haven't got to think about changing.

If there are only 2 of you, then i can't see it being much of a problem, and ebbsfleet was a brill location and you do get in an hour before the crowds from the direct train...but if there is only £6 difference in the price, then i would go for the direct train!

Im going indirect for a saving of £220 for me and 2 boys!
