I'm fumbling around between all of these threads and I'm just trying to find out where we should start. I did Touring plans but I don't like it. We are doing 2 day park to park and have no express or early hour anything. We have a large and very mixed party.

DS1 and I visited 'Islands of Adventure' at Spring Break 2yrs ago and we finished so early we saw a movie!!!!

HP is the main reason we are going but we like a lot of the interactive fun rides too. Rollercoaster just for a rollercoaster are maybe contingent on lines....

Anyway, will you please direct me to the thread that holds the answer to my basic question.... WHERE should we start? Which side?

Have you looked over on orlando informer? They have tour plans that might help you.

i always suggest to go to www.universalorlando.com to read up on what is in the parks and locations.
map on the site will give you a idea of the layout of the rides, shows, eateries, restrooms, first aid etc.

many people hit the rides in the front of the park if they are newbies.
others will go to the potter sections which will add more time to the line waits.

DE will have a continuous line throughout the day.

if you want a touring plan guide, TG is one and Josh has info and guides on his site.
both are decent.

check out some of the trip reports in the other forum and read how others completed the day in the parks.
many of the posters list details of their touring days.
