Dinosaur thrill level?

None of the people in my party can remember the Dinosaur attraction at AK very well, and I'm wondering if it is something my mom could enjoy. In terms of physical thrill rides, she'll do Thunder Mountain and Splash Mountain (but doesn't like the big drop) but not Space Mountain. Hated Tower of Terror. Basically Thunder Mountain and Star Tours are as big of a "thrill" ride as she can enjoy. How is Dinosaur compared to those?

The scariness of the dinos is not relevant, just the physical thrills.

Thanks!

Well if she doesn't like Space Mountain because of the jerkiness then she most likely won't like Dinosaur either. Dinosaur doesn't have any real drops but it does have lots of sudden starts and stops and really jerks you from side to side since it simulates a off road vehicles. There are no butterfly in your stomach kind of physical thrills.

Ok, so jerky, but no motion sickness type of things with drops or hills?
As someone prone to motion sickness, I've had no problems in that department on this ride. I must emphasize how jerky it is.

Hate to keep saying it by jerky best describes the ride (and maybe me depending on who you ask for going to the world so much)

Ride is jerky. Not really fast or has a lot of drops.

Fun fact about the loading area of the ride: There are pipes near the stairs that are red white and yellow with a bunch of chemical names and formulas on them. They actually mean ketchup, mayonnaise and mustard.

If she has any back or neck pain, then the jerkiness of the ride will be a problem. It is best described as nasty herky-jerky with sudden stops and very rough starts. I have ridden in cars with women and men wearing neck braces. I don't know the wisdom of this, but just an observation. It is likely the roughest ride I have experienced in all the WDW parks. The rollercoasters are smoothers. Universal's Hulk Ride is smoother. But, the Hulk Ride is scarier with higher elevation. Of course, very young children with visions of Barney or baby dinosaurs will be absolutely terrified. I have ridden when the ride has gone down right under the t-rex at the end, we were stalled for 10 mins or more, and the 5 yr old boy in front of me had a complete melt down. I felt so bad for his dad who likely had no idea what he was getting into & then the ride malfunction made a bad situation a complete nasty mess. I would not take anyone with a possible back or neck issue on this ride. I would never take a child under 8 yrs old on this ride. Even at 8 yrs old, they would have to be a very mature 8 yr old who loved monsters, scarey stuff and the dark. Stick with Kili Safari if you have any doubts.

I've ridden Dinosaur once. It was so jerky that I'll never ride it again. It just wasn't fun, at all.

I may be in the minority, but I love this ride! I think it's good fun albeit corny and, yes, jerky. But I'd rate it pretty low for thrill level. If she's fine with BTMR, I expect she'll be fine with Dinosaur. The dinosaurs themselves aren't scary or startling (none of them jump out at you or anything), the speed is low, and there are no big hills or drops. It's a bit like Star Tours in that the vehicle jerks around to simulate an experience for you, and in this case it's off-roading. I'd say it's a safe choice for the whole family.

It reminds me a lot of Space Mountain in terms of jerking you around. I don't enjoy that aspect of either of the rides. It has several sudden stops and starts, and it constantly feels like your bumped and jerked around.

It's incredibly rough. Whiplash-rough.

I cannot emphasize enough how jerky this ride is. It is so jerky (the hard jerky type) that it hurt DH's back and had me sliding all over the seat. We were paying so much attention to the jerkiness, that we did not notice any of the scenery of the ride. We didn't even see the dinosaurs much. We will never ride it again.

I personally don't think it is any worse than star tours. Space gave me nausea. Dinosaur does not.

I can't do the Star Tours ride - at all, motion sickness

but I do enjoy the Dinosaur ride, once. It is jerky, but its part of the ride, the "truck" you are in moves back, forth, up down... but not as much as the Star Tours seats... I wonder if it would help you if you watched the youtube video? I know we saw the special on how the ride works (with lights on, the cars follow a strip... its quite interesting... maybe that's why I enjoy the ride? knowing the behind the scene aspect)
