Can you tell me if Dinosaur has a large fall at the end. I have read that it is very bumpy and jerky, but I hate the free fall feeling.

It is very bumpy and jerky. There is a slight drop at the end, but nothing like a roller coaster. It's not at all like free fall.

I went on it the first time back in November. I was TOLD it was tame and I would like it (b/c I hate roller coasters & fast rides). Well, it can be scary (the dinos look really real and scary); but it is just very bumpy and jerky. No big falls or anything like that.

And actually I'm looking forward to going on it our next trip (if DH is up to it).

(DH just had quintuple bypass surgery in January and is scheduled for gallbladder surgery in April.)

But the ride isn't as bad as I first thought! :rotfl: I'm just a wimp when it comes to rides!

I'm sure a lot of people on here already know this, but I didn't till I saw it on a Disney World TV show -- the effects for "Dinosaur" all come from the ride vehicle. It's not on a track, like a roller coaster is. The ride vehicle itself is what moves. For some reason, this settled my mind so when I ride it now, I'm not as anxious about it as I was before. So I thought maybe this fact might help others like me. :)

The drop is minimal compared to other rides, the biggest thing on Dinousar is the noise.......it's very loud.

Like the previous posters have said, the ride is jerky but it's really not fast. The ride vehicle holds twelve people at once (three rows of four) and there are handles to hold onto. You are also seatbelted in.

The ride takes place in a lot of darkness. The dinosaurs are always popping out at you. Just as the dinosaur is about to get you, you'll jerk out of the way and race off (not at a very fast speed though).

The ride is loud too and there are lights flashing everywhere.

Our son has been riding it every since he reached the height requirement. It also helped that he watched the Travel channel shows that told how the ride was built and operated.

I would definitely go on it at least once because it doesn't last too long so even if you are scared, you aren't scared for long.

i am not a fan of dinsaur..ok..bumpy isnt the word!! Ok Just a note if ya wear a hearing aid..take it out!! I thnk if your deaf ud still be able to hear!! it was waaaaaaaaaayyy tooo loud for me..it wasn't the scary part, just the constant bumpiness and lousness of it all!!!:sad2:

No big drop (which I don't like either) but Dinosaur remains one of the scariest rides I have ever been on!

The first time I rode it I had no idea what to expect...needless to say the photo of me ducking under the handle bar, hiding from the dinosaur was a classic that my husband regrets not purchasing.:scared1:

As stated in previous posts no drop just very, very bumpy and jerky. The Dinosaur ride with the drop is the one at Universal Studios. Water ride with a huge drop, we sat an watched for a long time. People were hilarious and they got soaked. We didn't ride because it was Dec and 65 degrees.

Hi Kimmysmom. I am the biggest chicken out there, haven't even attempted to do Big Thunder, Space Mtn, etc. I HATE rollercoasters and anything scary but I LOVED Dinosaur, it is a bit bumpy but there are no sudden drops. It is my perfect kind of ride, not too fast but fast enough to give you a small thrill. I was very nervous about trying it the first time but can't wait to go on it again when we visit in Oct.

I don't like the ride at all. I find it loud and to dark. I would not go on it again. The Dinosaur ride with the drop is at Universal Studios - Jurassic Park (sorry if I'm repeating a previous diser's comment) :upsidedow

Heres a way to compare. Have you ever been on the pirates of the caribbean ride? You know that one part where it drops down in the begining, its tame, but its still a drop of sorts. Its kind of like that but less steep.

You know until somebody said there was a drop, I honestly didn't remember it and I've ridden Dinosaur oodles and oodles of times. So, I guess it's not so bad.

I love that ride. I purposly ride it only every other year, so that I don't remember everything that happens so it still gives me the same thrill now as it did when I first rode it years ago. This year I can't wait to ride it with my 9yr old daugther who chickened out last year but says she'll ride it this year.

I absolutely love this ride...even though it shakes the crap out of you! It's a lot of fun. It never fails, I ALWAYS scream when they take your picture.
