This ride has one of those advanced computer-motion carts, so you do move around in your seat some, but no real drops to speak of. It is more like the motion of the jeep on the safari ride, but maybe sped up a little, though it does make a few quick turns. The ride is very dark, with intense strobe effects, and loud noises. So if your kid doesn't mind that sort of thing, then the 'ride' part is fairly tame. It is intense enough to get your pulse going, but it is mostly visual/audio effects. The preshow area is pretty cool too, if you get to stay in the first room long enough (you might not if you use a fast pass).
AS far as kids go, we love this ride, and DN, started riding at four, I think. My adult sister also loves this ride and will do RnR, no problem, but she has to cover her eyes on parts of this ride. The funny thing is her in the ride photo at the end -she always has her head down!
