Dinning Plan refillable mugs

Just checked in now the only kind of refillable mug you can get is handless. I think this is BS. I am here with my family of 4 and I cannot fill all 4 cups at once now.

When they had handles I could carry all 4 in one hand. I am really unhappy because some people have handles and now they are out of the handles. I have called the concierge at the Poly (where I am tonight) and the Yacht Club (where I am staying all next week).

The answer I got was "the cup was re-imagined and now they don't have handles". I am glad that Disney pissed off a loyal customer to save a nickle per cup.

I completely agree! I am currently at the Polynessian and checked in on Thursday. They only had the red and blue cups with the handle. The cast member told me that many are complaining and that they just got a delivery in of the ones with the handles but only in the red and blue colors. She expressed her guess that maybe they are bringing the cups with the handles back because of all the complaints.

I'm in the no handle camp, would much rather they fit in a cup holder and with the little cardboard drink holder if I wanted to fill anyone else's (which I don't my son is grown and even when small capable of carrying his own cup) I could just use that.

Count my wife and I in this camp also. Like the idea of no handles.

Normally, I would want a cup without handles. However, at Disney World, the handle is far more valuable, as the majority of time the mug is carried to and from the room at the resort. In those cases, it does not need to fit into a cup-holder.

Why can't they give us a choice on whether we want handles or not. I prefer the handles as well but I know some people do not. Just give us a choice.

I like them without the handles personally.

They had cardboard cup carriers at Pop last week in the grab & go area.

We are at POP in the next couple of weeks and its good to know about the cup carriers as I am usually the one who has to carry them back to the room for the 3 of us.

slight deviation, but my 2yo coming with us, do they get a cup as well although they are not on the dining plan?

No. you will get the number if mugs to correspond to the number on the plan.

OP- I would like the choice. I want the handleless mugs because the ones with handles do not fit in my cup holders.

For me, the mugs have always just been a souvenir. The problem is that if I take them to fill on the way to the parks, we have to carry them all day. Since we don't want to carry them all day, we don't have them with us when we return each night. I am not making a special trip just to fill the mugs.

I agree :) Wouldn't the easiest and simplest solution be to just offer both? :)

From a cost perspective it really isn't the easiest and simplest solution. Two different models, two different shipments, have to store two different kinds of cups. I think with most change people will get used to it after a while. I'm in the no handles camp I guess but I could live with the handles just as easily.

You're totally right ... I only thought of it from a consumer stand point and what would be easiest for us :) Unless they do start offering both- they'll never make everyone happy lol. I see pro's and con's to handle / no handle so either is fine with me. I just LOVE being at WDW!!

Any more new info on this? Are they still ordering/offering handles or are they just getting rid of the ones they still had on hand?
I totally understand the no handle camp, but we are definitely handle people at Disney. Hoping they might be available again by holiday time.
