Can someone help me with information on how this works and can you ask to start the rotation at a certain retaurant. We are travelling with our two adult daughters who are already plannng their clothes for the formal nights and wonder if we need to do anything specific to get the best rotation.

I personally don't think there is a "best" rotation. You basically rotate through in the order of Lumière's, Animator's Palate, Parrot Cay, Lumière's, etc. If you're all adults, you'll likely start in Lumière's, but that's not a given. You can request a rotation, but they can't guarantee one, I don't think, unless you're booked in a suite. Again, I don't know that one is any better or worse than another. I've been in Parrot Cay for formal night and don't think the experience was any less because of it.

I have to agree with that. On our eastern last year we were APL which had us in PC for formal & L for semiformal. They were both nice. On our recent western we were APL to start with but we were able to request our previous server & he was on PLA rotation so we went with the great service over the rotation. We had a wonderful time both nights in AP.
