Dinnerware Suggestions?

I've had a now-discontinued pattern of Pfaltzgraff for over 30 years. The stoneware is oven, dishwasher and freezer safe. You can buy in dinnerware sets, or individual pieces. I can even find my discontinued pattern on a replacement website, and also see some of it occassionally on ebay.

It is more than worth the investment made!

We have a pfaltzgraff set too. It’s in use for almost 20 years.

I have so many sets of china: Pfaltzgraff, Fiestaware, Longberger, Pioneer Woman, Johnson Brothers, Spode (Christmas plates), Harmony House (my grandmother's wedding china), and Noritake (my wedding china).

The Pfaltzgraff is my everyday wedding china; it is showing its age, but after 31 years, I'm not disappointed. I love the colors and the small size of the Pioneer Woman stuff, but it doesn't have a long-term feel to it. I do seem to lean towards heavy stuff, and it's sometimes clunky in the dishwasher: Pfaltzgraff, Fiestaware and Longberger are all guilty of this issue.

If I suddenly lost them all and had to buy a new set, I'd probably opt for a Johnson Brothers' set. They're good quality, and they're not as heavy /don't take as much space in the cabinet as the heavier sets.

I vote for Corelle too! I've used the brand for 40 years. My original set is long gone but I wouldn't use anything else except for my Texasware. That's more for my mixing bowls and serving dishes.

Dare I admit, I have Villeroy & Boch for my every day dishes. Yup, I have a TON invested in it. But, I have also got way more shapes and sizes than the standard, 4 piece set. Dinner plates, lunch plates, saucers, tea cups, pasta bowls, rice bowls, cereal bowls, soup bowls and on. And it way suits my everything has to coordinate soul.

I would just get more corelle. I have had corelle for as long as I can remember.

I like fiestaware, but I do not like the price so until I win the lottery, I am sticking w/corelle.

We use Fiesta because it's made in the USA. You can get lots of good sales if you look around.

We got a porcelain set from Williams Sonoma from our wedding registry 17 years ago and it still looks brand new.

I went with Fiesta in all of the colors so I didn't have to worry about pieces breaking. It's held up well.

The thing I love about Fiesta ware is that if one breaks, I don't flip out because I know I'll be able to easily replace it. If you buy a set, unless you are lucky and they still carry that set, at some point you'll have to buy another set. Like the place you are in now.

If I didn't like Fiesta, I would have mismatched china from Goodwill. China doesn't have the value it used to since young-ins aren't interested in bringing out the 'good china'. So, I'd buy what was cheap and appealed to me. I would use the dishwasher like I do for Fiesta. Weirdly, this plan would be a lot cheaper.

For the more expensive Fiesta pieces, like serving bowls, look on ebay and search only within a certain distance. Ask the seller if you can pick it up. The shipping is so expensive because they are breakable and heavy. People won't pay more than retail, so you can buy at a discount.

Fiesta also makes good, easy gifts for people to give you.

They have these soup/coffee cups that I love. I don't even drink coffee. But it is good for soup and dunking cookies.
