Dinner time check in

We will be coming into WDW at dinner time and have ADR soon after we arrive, so was wondering should use on-line check in or just show up at desk.
We will be using DDP so need to check in first before going to dinner.
Are the on-line check in ressies rooms already assigned before you get there or do they assign after you show up?

Definitely do on-line check in. I am not sure if they assign the room in advance or when you get there, but it is usually faster because the line is short or non-existant (they have a separate line for on-line) and the actual process is shorter because you've aleady typed in the information yourself.

In my experience, it has definitely gotten me on my way much faster.

If you do on-line check-in and enter a CC#, the full amount of the dining plan will be charged to that CC on your check-in day. If you intend to pay for the dining plan with a different payment method, don't enter a CC#.
