Dinner suggestions for night of MNSSHP

We will be doing a split stay in Oct. (3 nights/AKL & 4 nights Poly) and I'm hoping to attend MNSSHP on one of the nights that we'll be at Poly. Where should we have dinner? Should we eat at MK after we arrive for the party or would it be better to eat somewhere before we go? I've read that the party usually starts at 5:30 and I think we'll go on a non-park day so I don't think we'll be able to get into MK before that. Any suggestions?

How about Liberty Tree Tavern? I would say Tony's but we had 2 bad experiences there.

I've thought about LTT but wasn't sure about when to make a ps. I'd hate to miss out on any of the party by eating but didn't know if I could make a ps for before the party starts without having to pay for park admission and the party. Maybe I should just plan on making that a park day. My thinking was that we'd just have a nice relaxing day at the resort since we'd be up pretty late that night. What do you think?

Last year they were allowing people in very early.

If you go in early, you'll probably have to use a day of admission on a park ticket and then they will just give you a wristband or something that proves you also paid for MNSSHP and you won't have to leave the park.

They may just let you in early with your MNSSHP ticket.

I think your idea of spending the day relaxing at your resort and going to the party in the evening sounds great.

Make a PS for whatever time is comfortable for you and then go to the party.

We were leaving MK around 3:30 last year and they were already let people in for the party. We would have stayed at our resort all day and then just went to MK at that time but we thought we wouldn't be able to get in until 7.

There was a similar thread a couple of weeks ago, and it was stated that, although the party does not officially start until 7:00, they have in previous years had a staggered opening, where they began letting people in after 4:00 to avoid large crowds at the gate at 7:00. I specifically questioned whether you were let in with just your ticket for MNSSHP and not your parkhopper, and was told yes (of course, no guarantee it will happen this year). I so hope it does, as we will only have tickets for the party and no PHs. I am planning to get PS for LTT or CP around 4:00 or 4:30, and then just stay in the park for the party. I guess we'll find out when the time comes

Yes, there was a recent thread about this topic. I went last year to MNSSHP and had my priority seating at LTT sometime before the party (I forget exactly what time). But we did a similar thing...made it a relaxing day at the resort (BWV) and then headed over for our dinner reservation so that we would already be in the park when the Halloween party started. We had unlimited magic passes so using one of our park days didn't matter for us. My main concern was not missing any of the events of the party while eating dinner so we were sure to make our seating for about an hour before the party officially started. Dinner was great--everyone working at LTT was dressed as characters from the haunted mansion and lots of people eating dinner were already in costume. It was very cool. And just when we got out of dinner it was getting dark and the trick or treating was starting. We'll be back again this year, can't wait! Have a great time!

Since you're at the Poly, O'hana might be a good choice also. We had 5:00 ps's for Chef Mickey's which worked out fine. Ditto on relaxing in the afternoon for that day - MNSSHP is exhausting! We made the mistake of going to Universal, staying until 3:00, then hustling back to BWV and on to Chef Mickey's then the MK for the party. Everybody was exhausted!

Last year I had a PS at Liberty Tree for 5:30, when they began serving dinner.
I showed up at MK with my MNSSHP ticket a little before 5:00, and they didn't even want to hear about my PS, just told me to go on in, 2 hours early!

We did this 2 years ago!

We spent the day relaxing at the pool (SAB). We ate before going to the party because I didn't want to spend the time with 3 kids eating instead of doing rides. This worked great for us because they let us in early and we went on LOTS of rides with no wait! Most people were in the process of leaving the park so this was a great time to get on rides. It got VERY crowded later in the night so we were glad that we did the rides during this transition time.
