Does anyone know how to find out if you are seated with other people at dinner? My husband and I are returning cruisers, but going it alone for our 10th anniversary...our 4 kids are staying home!! We were hoping for our own table. Anyone have a similar experience?:earsgirl: :earsboy:

There are no tables for two, as you know.

You can make a request for a private table, but you probably won't get it.

Instead you might request to be seated with only adults, or "no one under 13", which is what I requested and got.

We celebrated our 10th on the Magic last year. We were seated with 2 other couples, also celebrating a special occasion.
DCL often surprises us with how well they match you up with table mates. They do a much better job than another cruiseline we have been on.
We like to do things by ourselves, but it was fun celebrating with the others at dinner.

Your table # is on your KTTW card, as you know. What we always do is check our table # on our card and then right after we embark we go to the dining room and see what size table and the location of the table we have.

This way you can go right to the listed (in Navigator) area for dining changes and change things around.

Thanks for the reminder that there are no tables for 2...last time we went in Nov. 2000 our 4 kids, (ages 9,3,2 and 1) and my mother were with us so we didn't spend much time looking around the restaurants for tables for 2!!!!

I would like sitting at a tble full of strangers, but found it to be one of the best parts of the trip.

We too had previuosly sailed with family, and then went alone. Like you we wanted to eat dinner alone. We requested this but unfortuantely our request was not met. We even went to the dining change time and well, this was the one time we didnt feel the service we received was excellent. The CMs we told our situation to asked our table number. We told them and they said that was a table for 4, so maybe it was just us there, we will find out at dinner. They never offered to check it or anything(I at least wanted to be prepared, as this was a major issue for me).
In the end we had another couple with us who were always late, and we got stuck wasting alot of time waiting for them to catch up. They were nice enough and it wasnt toally horrible having table mates, but I would have much preferred to be alone. We would have had a much more enjoyable and relaxing time. Not having tables for 2 is probably my only complaint about DCL. But, I wont need that again for a long time, so I wont worry about it now. ;)
Good luck!
