Does anyone have any idea how they asign dinning roation. Could it be by the color of your luggage tags?

No, it is not by the color of your luggage tags. It is approximately by the age of the youngest child in your party. The rotations are roughly assigned by infants/preschoolers, elementary age children, and older children/adults only. Then the DCL computer does it's magic and decides based on the guest list for that cruise exactly where to draw the lines.

Personally, as my child has gotten older, I really enjoy not being in the dining room with a lot of fussy little ones (yes, I do remember that I was once the mom of a little one.) Since we normally travel as a mother/daughter team, we are sometimes seated with others. DCL has done a wonderful job of seating us with an appropriate group--always another girl within a year or so of DD's age or (more recently) a table of adults where my DD is just fine and can hold her own in conversation.

Note--if you want to be seated with just your family, let DCL know this ahead of time. If you allow them to arrange seating and there is a problem with your table mates, let the head server know and you will be permanently reassigned.

We did see one table where there was a very inappropriate man travelling alone--the situation was quickly taken care of by the staff. We've never personally had a problem, but it's nice to know that they do deal with it quickly and appropriately.

any guess what rotation we would be assinged? Our party is:
DH and I, late 30's and early 40's
DM and DDad in 60's
DB and DS-I-L in thier 40's and thier 7 yr old son.
We are sailing the 7 day western if that matters?
We have requested late dinning and I was really hoping for the LAP rotation, what are the odds now that we have a 7 yr old in our party? (this started as my parents and I, my brother recently booked!)

I plan to do Palo our third night and really do not want to miss the first night in AP. So, APL would work but not sure how they decied the diff between APL and PLA?

Thanks for any insight!

The inappropriate man didn't happen to be on the Maiden Voyage of the Magic did he???? We were on that and were seated with a very inappropriate man who was travelling alone and he was impossible...he would take things from our kids plate, take a bite and put it back.....he was in a wheelchair and mentally unstable....but at first we just thought him eccentric as he was in the dining room with his Mickey Mouse ears on (my kind of guy) but as we got closer to the table we realized he was in dirty cutoff shorts and a dirty "underwear tank top)...we soon realized he was very odd and then when he started with the food and then groping our female friend we had to get the head server involved.....he even had the female server in tears....next night he was at a table by himself...I honestly think he could have been on the moon and not known....can't figure out at all how he was allowed to travel by himself. Saw him the whole cruise acting oddly.

If you book your night at Palo in advance, you can always go switch your dining rotation once you're onboard if it isn't the one you want. Check the navigator when you arrive to see when and where.
