Dinner Question...

You can ask for a table for your group but it isn't always honored. You have to call and ask early. You won't know for sure until you are on the ship. The other option is to join a cruise group and pick table mates for yourself.

It also depends on the size of your party. We're a family of 4 and have never requested to sit by ourselves but have always been seated by ourselves. There are lots of 4 tops in the MDR so many groups of 4 get them to themselves.

As a previous poster said, call and have them put the request on your reservation. If you don't want to wait until dinner time to find out if your request was granted, you can check as soon as you get on board. Check the Navigator to see where they are taking dining assignment changes. They can tell you whether or not you are seated alone. They might - emphasis on might - be able to change it at that time, but only if they have availability. I've always read on here that being in the second seating helps. I know on our last cruise there were a lot of empty tables at second seating.

We had some very homophobic tablemates during our last cruise and were able to switch tables by asking the dining room staff. First time we ever had bad tablemates, but it has stung us hard - we are asking to sit alone during the next cruise when it is just the two of us. Luckily 2nd seating is easier.

We got our own table for 3, per our request at the 2nd seating. Our DD had food allergies and wanted to keep our table allergen free, so they granted our wish.
