OK, IM NEW HERE...
But what do you think, I have found tickets for arabian nights and the pirates dinner adventure for £29 pp. Or we can go to Dolly Partons stampede where kids eat free, which do you think is the better show?
kids are 8 6 and 3 so advice from people who have seen shows with kids of that age would be fab...
thanks :cool1:

Hi scojos and welcome to the Dis :)

What I do know with the dinner shows is that you can always get money off them by looking in the magazines that are found everywhere (outside supermarkets, in restaurant and hotel lobbies etc).

Whether £29 is better than that or not though, I don't know I'm afraid. Someone will I am sure :)

When is your trip and where are you staying? Have you visited before?

Welcome to the boards :earsboy:

I am going through the same thoughts as yourself. We were put off dinner shows by the Pirates Dinner Adventure but were considering giving one of the above two a try - from what I can gather Dolly Partons stampede seems to get the better reviews unless you're really into horses.

£29pp seems expensive - have you looked at the UK ticket sites? Also, I've been looking for the kids eat free at Dollys as all the ones on offer last year were only up to 31st December 2005, have you found somewhere offering the deal for this year?

i have found kids eat free on themeparktickets, £29 is for both dinners, arabian nights AND pirates, sorry if that wasnt clear.
we are going for 21 nights, from the 1st Aug, staying at the howard johnson westgate, anyone stayed there before?
how far is it really from the parks?
thanks

OK what I would say is this. It was basic but we really didn't pay much for it so for the money we were very happy!

It was about 4 miles down the 192 to get to the Disney entrance, though there is a short cut via Sherberth Road we never took that one then.

It was very clean, the staff were nice, the room was pretty spacious, it had external corridors but the blocks were low rise (only two floors). You could park right outside your block / room which was great.

There were 3 pools in total, one covered which was ideal when it got very hot outside.

There wasn't really much to eat within walking distance back in 2002 when we stayed here; there was a chinese restaurant right next door (we didn;t try it) and a McDonald's a way up the road which was walking distance but nowhere to walk to get there ;) There was a restaurant onsite (the Copper Turtle or something like that?) but we didn't try that.

There is however a huge choice of eating places between the WDW exit and the hotel if you are driving. Pretty much any chain you can think of.

In summary, for the price it was an excellent hotel, but it was basic.
