I know it's been asked, BUT....

We have had dinner at Kona a few times and it's always been a good experience. Considering trying Ohana on our next trip. Can't do both so I need to pick one. The menu at Ohana looks fine for us, but is the quality of food good? Atmosphere is nice, but we also want to enjoy what we are eating LOL!!

We loved Ohana! The bread, salad and broccoli were great but I honestly didn't eat too much of them because the noodles, wings and dumplings were fabulous...as was the dessert. The meat was kind of hit or miss. The steak was moist, juicy and very flavorful. The shrimp was very flavorful but one time was a bit overcooked. The turkey and pork were a bit dry and lacked flavor. But we are a steak and shrimp family so it was no big deal for us.

But it was one of or favorite meals and we plan on going back next year.

O'hana yummy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We go to ohana every trip!!!!!! Youll love it! Everything is soooo tasty! I love the bread pudding!!!

We love Ohana, always a must do for us. Good bread, salad, potstickers, yummy wings, delicious shrimp and bread pudding. The steak is good, but I always order it mid-rare. The pork, turkey are a little dry, I just skip them. If you like shrimp and wings you will not be disappointed because they are always excellent. The atmosphere is fun for kids, and if you time it right you can watch Wishes from the Poly beach.

Both are rather good. Kona has sushi, 'Ohana is all you can eat and has a better view.

If there is a vegetarian in your group, be sure to mention it at 'Ohana. The best chef in all of WDW is there to help.

Otherwise the thing I like about 'Ohana is that there are a good number of yummy veggies included in the regular dinner. Sadly, that has become a rarity at WDW.

The thing I dislike about 'Ohana is that it is a TON of food! If you are disturbed by overeating in America, 'Ohana is not for you. Whenver we eat there, there's a TON of leftover food. (It's also not for folks who hate throwing out leftover food.)

When you are totally stuffed on your fill of meat...they bring dessert!

YOWSA!

If you have not been to Ohana, try it. We were skeptical, but when we went we came out stuffed with yummy food in our bellies. The bread was awesome as well as the noodles, broccoli, pot stickers, and meat. The wings were okay, but we are spoiled with great wings here in Buffalo. And the dessert, to die for! :goodvibes

I enjoyed our dinner at 'Ohana. I know it gets mixed reviews but I think it's worth trying at least once to see if you like it.

Have done both perfer Ohana! I would ask your server as soon as your seated to ask that the grill chef not over cook the meat, they do tend to over cook. otherwise its a wonderful meal and experience

If sushi is what you want id go to the sushi counter outside of Kona

The food at Ohana is very good. We love the dishes and the meat skewers. WHat I don't like is how the service gets so slow the later the evening goes.
Also the noise. Sometimes you can't hear your own breathing. But we do love the food.

I keep reading about the noise at Ohana but it was fairly quiet when we were there for dinner. Just your normal restaurant chatter aside from the guy walking around with the yukalaylee and singing. Did I miss something or did our 8:15 ADR bring us in after the noise?

Kona for sure! I have been to both and absolutely loved Kona and my whole family of 4 disliked Ohana (so it just wasn't me). We had to order a pizza after our dinner to Ohana. With that being said though, I would encourage you to try it if that is what you want to do. You will never know what "you" think unless you go. Enjoy your trip.

Another vote for Ohana. We've done both and much prefer Ohana. The bread pudding at the end is delish. I think I'd go just for that, but the whole meal was great.

Wow! All these great reviews about Ohana made me want to try it. So I just got a ressie for Oct. 17 for 8:15 pm. Can't wait to try it.

Just one question - I just read that the service gets slower the later you go. Will I have a problem with an 8:15 pm ressie?

Thanks!

I'm in the minority I guess because I don't think O'Hana is that great anymore.

I used to love it there until they changed the menu a few years back. The dessert :lovestruc is to die for, the appetizers/salad/bread good, but the meat has been a miss more than once. I think it is not cheap per head, when I'm paying for all adults, to not have at least edible meat.

The food at Kona is good, but the service is always a miss.

I have heard that the dessert at the Irish bar in downtown disney is close to the dessert at O'Hana. Does anyone know if this is true?

We had an 8:15 ADR and our service was great the entire time. They were quick and attentive without making us feel rushed.

We have been to both and will be headed back to Ohana's this October. Both were great & the sashimi at Kona's was better than the stuff we had at the Japan pavilion at Epcot.

I don't think you can go wrong either way, but as was mentioned before, be prepared for some mass quantities of food at Ohana's. The view is great though, especially if you can get a glimpse of some fireworks!

Either way, enjoy the food!
