Dinner in the Haunted mansion! I'm jealous!

Haha! There was a thread about this a while ago. But yeah, it sounds pretty interesting, although it seems as though all it is is a sort of macabre themed dinner party.... I dunno about inside though. Where would they accommodate everyone?!

Anywho, I think it would be worthwhile if there was something new added to the ride, which could very well happen if the "next husband" the Bride weds is added (many speculate the return of the Hat Box Ghost). The pricing's a little steep for me... And eventually we'll all hear about the events here or watch someone's recording of highlights of the event on youtube, lol.

To the best of my knowledge, dinner is not (Unfortunately) to be served in the Mansion, but rather in DCA. I am not too excited about HM activities taking place clear over there. I'm kind of blah about that aspect of it.
It is the 40th Anniversary though, and I am excited about that. I definitely am interested in attending the event. Hopefully my plans will go accordingly.

I agree that having it in DCA is LAME. Why can't they close that area of the park and have dinner in front of the mansion? That'd be freaking sweeeeeeeet :) :goodvibes

I agree Krissy! It could be in front of as well as near as possible. And of course, inside too. I love to dine alfresco, unless it is too hot or too cold. But then there are those outside heating lamps.

Thanks for posting this..i'm going to plan to save for this event.

Now for sure i want to get my christmas shopping done by june.

I have been debating getting in on that event myself!

In the past (from what I have seen at least three times, once at WDW, and twice at DLR), they have in fact served dinner in the HM.

The WDW appears to have been served in the elevator http://www.doombuggies.com/fancentral_dinnerevent.php

To give you an idea though the first event in 2000 at DLR, that also included lunch at Club 33, and a limo pick up to bring you to the event, cost $2000 a person.

I know they also offered a package in the $2000 range for the special HMH event a few years ago, that included a stay at one of the DLR hotels, and dinner or dessert (I can't remember which) in the mansion.

Back in the day the events had much bigger offerings and price tags! I am just happy seeing them offer anything as it seems that these type of events are becoming fewer and fewer which is really sad.

BTW some one I used to know did one of the early events and said it was amazing!

I do agree that they should have something special in DL not DCA since HM is in DL!! Why not a cocktail hour in BB or in the line que instead???

..Why not a cocktail hour in BB ...

While I love this idea, can you see the DISBoards threads now:

"Just tried making BB reservations. Denied bc of special event."
"Special event people taking over BB"
"Why do they have to use the BB?"

:rotfl:

I should have been clearer :)

Usually these events are done after the parks close, so I meant a BB event AFTER the park closes. That way people will just complain about the early park closure instead of the BB closed :rotfl:

BTW they actually did have a special event dinner this way at BB, back a few years ago for the HMH.

:cheer2: Yeah Yeah.. DH just confirmed we can go to this.. as my birthday is on the 14th so this will be my present.:cheer2:

Fairykin,

That is just so nice of your DH! Sometimes I wish that I had a nice and generous husband or boyfriend (Maybe both ;) he he)
Alas, I will have to pay for myself. Oh well, I just hope that it will not be a problem in purchasing one of the packages. It is my understanding that sometimes, Disney's websites, will freeze or crash. Oh, my!

YAY for Fairykin!!! I want to do this too but I know it's too far from my budget. Oh well.....

Double yay for FairyKin!!!

I want to go too, but I agree with Kerri and the budget! Plus we're already going August. Budgets suck! *thumbs down*

Ok, maybe if I start saving now I'll be able to afford the 50th anniversary party...

:rotfl:  :rolleyes1 :teacher: :confused3

Wow, that is a hefty price tag!

But I can only imagine them doing dinner in the elevator, if anywhere within the mansion. The rest of the ride just can't accommodate an event like this, seeing as they're just sets built in warehouses.

Well, df was at 999 Happy Haunts Ball in WDW and said they did do dinner in the stretch rooms. I don't think they have the budget for that at the 40th anniversary event however.
