We are spending tonight at the Grand Californian. 8 people ages 3 - 88. We are NOT going into the parks, just the resort and DTD. Best place to eat?
Thanks!

Well, it depends on what you want. I mean, I would always go to Earl of Sandwich, but if you don't want something fast-food like, then there are other good places. I hear good things about Black Tap and Ralph Brennan's. I am not too familiar with the places int eh resort, but I'm sure they're good, though maybe more expensive. Enjoy your evening!

Personally, I'd opt for Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen if you're looking for something in DTD. That's my family's favorite TS in DTD. They do take reservations (via OpenTable), but not for all times (given the size of your group, I'd look into a reservation).

Jazz Kitchen has been great for our larger groups. Always leave pleasantly happy.

Steakhouse 55 or Napa Rose if you want nicer

Splitsville if you want more casual

Rest is just "meh" IMO. (although have not been to Back Tap yet)

Goofy's Kitchen (DLH) would be a nice option if you wanted to see characters. It's buffet style.

I'd also agree with previous recommendations for Steakhouse 55 (DLH), or Ralph Brennan's (DtD).

we like to go to Naples to eat, we love their Pizza. Thin crust brick fired oven Pizza has been a hit with us in the past. Don't forget about the places in the Hotel too.

Tonight for 8 people the only places with reservation availability are Goofy's, Storytellers and PCH Grill. Since you're at GCH I'd do Storytellers or possibly Goofy's if you have kids who would enjoy the character meal. Both are buffets.

We haven’t really liked many of the DtD restaurants. Very expensive and we’ve found the food to be meh. We actually really liked Splitsville- is pricey but the food and service was good and the atmosphere is fun. Ralph Brennan’s is good as well.

We haven’t tried any of the options in the GCF, but everyone loved Napa Rose and Storytellers. Goofy’s kitchen is fun if you want to spend that much.... budget option is off campus- Mimi’s Bistro on Harbor. We were pleasantly surprised at the portion sizes and prices and everything was good. Lots of healthy options too, but obviously not as magical as eating on property!!!!

One tip- we have found you can’t make reservations for the DTD restaurants via the app the day of- or that may have been a glitch???? But they all take open table I think or you can call.

We enjoy Tortilla Joes, Naples and quite a few others in DTD. It depends, I guess what type of food you feel like having for dinner. Since you are staying at GCH, you can ask them to help make the ressies. There are good eating places in each hotel too.

I took a group of 15 to Jazz Kitchen, everyone enjoyed the evening. They seated us up stairs over looking DTD, great spot and the service we had was wonderful.

If anyone else reads the thread...as a guest of GCH they can make some reservations for you that are showing unavailable. There are some hold backs.

I LOVE Earl of Sandwich, so I would probably go there for a Holiday Sandwich and tomato soup. If you are into more of a sit down experience, I also really enjoy Ralph Brennan's.

What is a holiday sandwich??? Just the name sounds yummy!!!!!

On our last trip, we went to Mimi's at the end of Harbor. It was about a 10 minutes walk but seemed miles away.
We went to dinner rather early, around 5PM and there was only one other family inside. It was cool and quiet and just a wonderful spot for a break from the chaos. The food was very good (I had the Chicken Pot Pie) and the cocktails had a bit more punch than anything I've had at DLR.
It was such a nice place to wind down that it will be a must-do from now on for our family.
